Once Upon A Sketch and The Scrap book Store sketch August
A big Hello to you today! SO nice you called by!
The August challenge for Once Upon A Sketch is to use this sketch..
and to create about the men in your life.. Well I have created a layout about the man I have known the longest... My Dad.. and the theme for this one is about him being a country boy at heart.. He lived on his farm for more than 70 years and he really was so sad to leave it.. Every chance he can get he loves to go for a drive into the country side.. and he used to be a wonderful horse man and he used the Clydesdales to work the land when he was a lad.. So I have used 2 different photos, one of when he was a boy with his horse Don, who incidentally I rode when I was little..and at a recent family wedding where the Bride arrived in a horse and carriage.. and when Dad went to give the horses a pat, I got some photos..
Always a country boy at heart..
and I have created a layout for the August at The Scrapbook Store which I have used like this..
Happy girls are the prettiest.
Well I hope your day is going really well.. Thanks always for any comments you leave me too..

D-Lish Challenges
A very good day to you! I hope your day is going well..
The last few days I have been creating for the D-Lish challenges from last weekend, so I thought I would put them all up together as the challenges were for the Scrap Suite on Facebook. There were 4 challenges and I completed them all.
The first one was to use stamping on your layout.. Well I do like a bit of stamping!
You are my happiness.
The second challenge was monochrome embellies.. I found this old die cut paper and went with that and used it as the base color for my layout.
Best Buddies.
The third challenge was all about the selfie.. well just between you and me I tried to take a selfie the other night, and lets just say, after about 40 photos I thought it would be easier to borrow one from one of my DD off facebook, so that is what I did!
The title came about because of the movie "the sisterhood of the traveling pants" a girlie movie that my girls loved to watch... so my title...
The sisterhood of Selfies.
I have used WOW chippies and prima flowers on this one!
And the fourth challenge was to scrap a non living thing...and add triangles.. My triangles are the stencilling on the back ground.. I used a photo of a lovely sunset at the Sunshine Coast.
Paradise.
Can you believe how fast the days are going? Friday tomorrow...
Thanks for popping by and as always thanks so much for any comments too!

Anna's Craft Cupboard Aug sketch
Good day to you! Yes I am still here! Soo busy with life and family and a bit of scrapping on the side..hehe..
I have been creating, cant show most of it yet...... but I can show the layout I have created for the August sketch over at Annas Craft Cupboard which I loved, and looks like this..
What a great sketch!
and my layout using a photo of my Dd and our horse and a quote which I love....
Be my friend..
And I created a layout for a friend who was celebrating her 50th Birthday, and I got this to her last weekend.. I took a photo before I put it in a frame.. (She did like it too!)
I wasn't sure what colors to use but I was told it suits the decor in her house wonderfully.. so that is good!
Well I have one more layout to do for the D-Lish challenges from last weekend, so I better hop to it!
Thanks so much for your visit and always appreciate any comments you leave me..
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Kaiser Saturday challenge #2 August and Lets Get Shabby!
Good morning!
The smell of glue coming from my little scrap room means one thing..... I have been creating..!!
The Saturday challenge over at KAISER is another card one, so I thought I would create a card for this one....seeing as I have plenty of Kaiser products!!
We are to use something sparkly, something dimensional and something floral.. I have used a rhinestone flower, I have lifted up the layers with cardboard and I have used a floral stamp as well as floral papers.. and my card..
Hello.
And the challenge for LETS GET SHABBY was something different this month, we were to use a favorite book cover for inspiration.. I really felt like doing an art journal page so I remembered a book I read over and over many years ago by a lady whose name is Barbara Johnson. And this is the book I was inspired by to create my art journal pages..
She is quite an inspirational writer with added humour in her books.. She went through many difficulties in her life including nearly losing her husband in a near fatal accident, losing a son in Vietnam, and another son to a drink driver and the 3rd son disowned her for many years. so she really has a lot to share about lifes pain.. I have used the title of her book and popped a little photo of Barbara on my second page just to remind me about her..
and my pages..
The images I have used have been printed from google images.. lots of stamping, book pages and texture on the back ground before covering it with geraniums!!
Thanks so much for dropping by and thank you as always for any comments you leave me..
I will leave you with a few lines from the last chapter of the book.. Stick a geranium in your hat and be happy.
"Tears and sorrow come, but each time God will be there to remind you that He cares. Romans 8:28 means that God causes all things in our lives to work together for good. Flowers can even grow on the dung hills, and compost makes great gardens. God is offering Himself to you daily, and the rate of exchange is fixed. It is your (and my ) sins for His forgiveness, your (and my) tragedy and hurt for His balm of healing.. and your sorrow for His joy..." God Bless you my friends..
