More Than Words October Main Challenge - Write and Magazines

Hello there.. How are you? As well as can be I hope...

I am just popping up my creating for the Main Challenge over at MORE THAN WORDS which is now to create  Art Journal Pages.. Now I am a beginner at Art Journaling.. I have done a class and I watch a lot of YouTubes with very talented artists who take the time to make the videos and share with us.. Among my favourites are France Papilion and Maremi Small Art and others that pop up on YouTube.

and the challenge is..

To be inspired by the word WRITE and use Magazines. Well I dont buy magazines usually so I got a mag from Coles and used that!!

I have taken some step photos as I created.

I tore out some pages with the colors I thought I might use.. and then I ripped up some pieces of papers and glued them on my pages. I have used a smallish sized book with each page measuring 14cm by 20cm.

I then used two stencils and did some random stencilling.

I then used a glimmer mist for color.

I then added some stamping and some stickers

I then added some cut out circles and hearts from the magazine papers. I went around the edges with a black pen and then added some black with a pastel crayon and smudged the edges to make them softer.

For this journal I am creating pages with meaning or inspiration, so I found a Bible verse with the word WRITE in it and used that as well as using my hand writing for my pages.

and my pages..

I still feel like such a beginner but I have found Art Journaling is another great way to sit and forget the troubles for a while and create something with meaning as well as just playing with products.. I dont have anything special, just old mists and water colors and stamps and stencils..There are many wonderful artists who inspire me.. Thank you MORE THAN WORDS for this fabulous challenge.. I did enjoy creating for it.. I hope to join in with more of these challenges..

Thanks for coming by and visiting my little blog today.. I do appreciate each one coming by..

Until next time.. take care..

Scrapmatts creating for October

Hello there! How is your October going? I hope things are well with you..

Today I am sharing with you my layout I have created with some wonderful Scrapmatts products.

I have a few of the lovely Arch Window Frames in my stash and I wanted to use them in a different way on my page.. They make great frames around photos but I felt like cutting them up and placing on my page as features.

As I usually do I started by adding some interest to the back ground with stencils, one with texture paste and the other with an ink pad and dauber.

I cut one frame in half and I left one frame whole.

I kept a bit of a butterfly theme happening with these chipboard butterflies that I colored with glitter gel pens, adding different layers of color until I was happy with the rustic look.

I colored the feathers the same way with different glitter gel pens to give a multi-colored look. and placed them over some fussy cut feathers.

and my layout.

Remember to smile everyday.

Just a quick post to share my Design Team creating for this month.. the months sure are flying by..
Thanks so much for coming by.  Thanks for any comments you leave me.. until next time...

Soul Scrappers Challenges - Sketch, Mystery Bag and Tic Tac Toe

Hello there..  how are things with you in your part of the world....  We have had some beautiful rain the last few days so I have not been in my garden, but rather in my scrap room.. Its not that I dont like being in my scrap room, but lately I have been finding other things to do, but I did enjoy getting in and doing some creating.. There is a lovely group on Facebook SOUL SCRAPPERS CHALLENGES and they have 6 challenges running each month. so there is sure to be something to inspire you.. I have created layouts for 3 of the challenges so far this month, maybe I will get to do a few more before the month is over... so these are the challenges I have done...

The first layout I would like to share was done for the Sketch.. and I turned it once clockwise to suit my photo.. I used it like this..

and just a couple of closer views..

I have used some old papers for this one, some Basic Grey..  and lots of layers with fussy cutting..

Blessed

The next challenge is the Mystery Bag which is to use 5 or more tags on your layout..

 a couple of closer views..

I have 6 tags up this side of my layout..

and two tags under my flower cluster.

Journey

I have used papers designed by Michelle Grant called Follow Your Dreams, very arty.

And the next layout I would like to share is for the Tic Tac Toe which is..

I chose the middle row... Doiley, Photo of a favourite person, and pearls..It was only when I was doing this page did I realize I had used photos of my youngest for the three layouts.... I guess I am missing her as she moved out last month to go to work elsewhere.. far from my eyes, close in my heart...

couple of closer views.

The pearls I have used are from Kaisercraft as well as liquid Pearls in the centre of the flowers..

The doiley is an oval one that fit perfectly behind my photo.

October Kraft + Challenge - Inspired by Manga

Hello October! We are in the middle of spring here so the weather is warming and the flowers are blooming!

And it is time for the new challenges to go up to inspire some creativity! And this months challenge for KRAFT+ certainly was a challenge for me this month... and it is..

To be inspired by MANGA. Well I really had no clue about Manga, and after a bit of research I found it had something to do with Japan.. So the theme of Japan was my inspiration..  My Daughter travelled to Japan in her last year of High School and so I was inspired to create my layout around that.. She loved the culture and food and brought home a beautiful Japanese Kimono so I used these photos for my page. I have used an older range from Kaisercraft.

 some closer views..

Lots of fussy cutting and layers.

The Japanese lady is a sticker I have had for a long time!
Some stamping on the back ground.

and my layout..

Thanks for coming by, I appreciate each visit..
Take care.. until nest time..
