Dusty Attic Mood Board January

A very good day to you where ever you are popping in from!

It is a very pleasant day here, we have had some rain and the sun is just trying to peek out among the clouds!

I have a layout to put up for the JANUARY DUSTY ATTIC MOOD BOARD which looks like..
Welllll! I took so much inspiration from this board and I hope it shows on my page.. I have used the colors as well as picking up colors from the picture including gold from the sun.. I have also used the word peace in the title which is a Dusty Attic chipboard title that I have cut in half to place on my layout..  Sooo some close up views...

The peaceful heart finds beauty in all things..

I have used various Dusty Attic chipboard pieces including sea grass, sea gulls on a post, the title, and some frames. I have also used some Dusty Attic flowers, as well as Manor House flowers, beads and shells, dies, and stenciling on the back ground.

Thank you for your visit and thank you too for any comments you leave me..

Kaiser January Challenge & D-Lish Scraps January Inspiration

Good Morning!
Happy Australia Day to all the aussies! I hope you are enjoying today no matter where you are!

The KAISER JANUARY CHALLENGE
Jan_heading has suggestions to create something with the theme of love  and to use these colors...
JAN_colours_blog as well as using some paper blooms and some stamping.
I thought the XO collection ticked all the boxes for this challenge so I have used that paper range.

Love is just a word until someone special gives it meaning..

And I was inspired by the D-LISH SCRAPS INSPIRATION BOARD which looks like
and those colors really suited the Tropical punch collection from Kaiser so I used them and followed the sketch too..

OFF THE RAILS & CHALLENGE YOURSELF jANUARY

A very good day to you, I hope your day is going as well as can be!

I have combined 2 of this months challenges in my next layout.. I read and reread the rules and it is allowed so I have used the color palette from OFF THE RAILS SCRAPBOOKING which looks like...
(I have used the 3 colors as well as a beachy photo,)

and I have combined it with Challenge YOUself January challenge which is..

Challenge YOUrself #14: One Little Word
Choose a word that you will focus on and reflect upon all through the year and create a layout that celebrates your chosen word.
Remember to include YOU in the photo :)

For the last few years I have seen how instead of a new years resolution, people would choose a word for the year to come.. I have always thought about it, but never really committed to a word.. This year I have..

and my layout is about this word...

And my inspiration includes words from one of my favourite songs at the moment.. and I have printed some lines of the song on my photo....

some close ups ...
I have used some of the confetti that came out of the frame die on a few of the waves, just gluing it on for some interesting elements.. I have used some Scrapmatts frames, some 2Crafty chipboard painted black, and some dies..

and there you have my word......

Fear - less...

I love the song Oceans which contains the words..

I will call upon your Name
and keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise my soul will rest in your embrace
For I am yours and You are mine...

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Where ever you would call me...

I want to fear - less, that does not mean I wont be afraid, but I want to have less fear, more courage...     with Gods help...

I have put the link up for those who would like to just take a moment and listen to this beautiful song..

The Scrapbook Store, Feeling Sketchy #113 & Cardabilities #115

A very good day to you! Really lovely of you to drop by!

I have done a bit of creating in this hot weather, sure beats house work!! So I had better share it here!

The sketch for THE SCRAPBOOK STORE this month is another great sketch which I have used like this..
I have used some really old Bo Bunny papers that I found while looking for something to use.. really bright and now they fit in the category of "what was I thinking when I bought them and how do I use them up" !! hehe.. so I gessoed the back page because it was one of those green shades that just dont fit in my usual color scheme and then I piled on lots of MM and then I fussy cut lots of flowers from another page..  I also have chipboard that has been lying dormant in my drawer, so out came some Scrapmatts chippies and I used them as well..

So some closer views of the fussy cutting and layering up with cardboard..

And my layout..

Smile..

And yes embrace the warp from all the mixed media on the back ground.. !! will look ok once it is in the album...

And while I had those papers out and wanting to use them up I decided to make some cards.. So I looked for some card sketches and created a card for FEELING SKETCHY #113 which looks like..

and my card...

and also for CARDABILITIES #114  and the sketch..

and my card...

I hope your day is going well and thanks so much for your comments too!!

SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD - January

A warm Hello to you, so nice of you to come by..

The Mood Board Challenge over at SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD is such a pretty one I could not resist creating a layout for it..  and I have found lots of inspiration in it..

It is this..

I loved the keys, the frames, the clock, and of course the pink roses.. I have also used the quote on my layout as the photo is one of my DD and the horse we had here for a few years.. He was not our horse, but we loved him all the same.. and one day the owner just came and took  him away..  We were so sad.. but we had to let him go.. So the quote is so appropriate for the photo...

Some closer views showing elements I took from the mood board..

the keys..

 The quote and clock.,

 the frames..

the pink roses..

And my layout..

Life.. is a balance of holding on and letting go..

And that is a part of life isn't it??

Thanks for your visit and thank you too for any comments...
