More Than Words - November Challenge

 Hello there,

How are things with you.. I sure hope you are doing ok..

I am just popping up my Art Journal Pages for the November challenge over at MORE THAN WORDS which is

To use the mood board and be inspired by the word GRATITUDE. When I think of Gratitude I think of being thankful..  being grateful for what I have.. so I have used a quote on my pages.. I have used some images from an old calendar, which I fussy cut and glued on my pages... but first... I have a few steps to share with you about how I created my pages..

I started with cutting out random sized squares from papers with the colors from the mood board which I glued on the pages and then I did a gesso wash (gesso and water) and left that to dry..I then used mists to add some colors..  I added some more gesso around the page with my finger until I was happy with how it looked..

Sorry about the photos, the pages are warped from using liquids..  I then did some stamping using a few different stamps.. and added some washi tape.

and then I glued on my images and the quote on the pages.

I used a water color pencil with a fine paint brush and added some black around the birds and the leaves for some definition.

and my pages..

So much to be thankful for.

Yes I do... even when things are hard, I can still be thankful.. there are always blessings to count..

Thank you More Than Words for another great challenge to get me creating in my Art Journal Book..

Thank you too for your visit and any comments.. I appreciate you..

Do take care..  until next time..

November Scrapmatts creating

 Hello there!!

Well we are on the down hill slide to the end of the year, and often it can be a very busy time. I have a layout to share with you today that I hope will inspire you to create a page using some fabulous Scrapmatts chipboard that I have left raw or uncolored.. It gives such an organic look that works well for any style. (and it helps to get a page done a little quicker!!!)

As I have used a white cardstock for the base I wanted to add just a hint of color and I did this by using an ink pad and a dauber and a pretty stencil..

I then sprayed a bit of water onto the stencil and patted it onto my layout to add some splats and splodges.. and remember to clean off your stencil after use.. (I just used a baby wipe).

Then it was onto deciding how I was going to use the papers and layering under the photo.

I have used the beautiful Wildflowers chipboard frame around my photo. It looks so good raw and I found this title was just right too.. It stands out in the black.. ready to use.. so good..

I did some fussy cutting of these papers and layered them with some old cardboard..The simple leaf spray added a little bit of dimension but not too thick for my album.

I did a little corner embellishment and placed the Wildflower chipboard on top to add to the cluster..

and my layout.. Dare to Dream.

The Scrapmatts Chipboard looks good embossed or colored with paint, but I like it just the way it is for this  soft feminine layout..

Well I cant believe how quickly time is gong by.. Thanks for dropping by today.. take care..thanks for any comments.. until next time..

To be inspired by this board All Creatures Great and Small.. and on a base of Kraft of course..  Well what to choose? I have had a lot of furry friends in my life but I have to admit I was inspired by the little photos of the doggie, which looks a lot like my Daughters Dog Alfie.. so I found a photo and began creating.. I have used an old Kaisercraft collection of papers for this page..

some closer views..

The flowers have been in my stash for ages too.. so good to use them...

I love my dog.
