Soul Scrappers Challenges - Sketch, Monochromatic and One Word

Hello there, How is your February going? We have had some very hot days and some wet days, all very usual for our last month of summer!

I have been creating and have 3 layouts I would love to share with you for the challenges over at SOUL SCRAPPERS on Facebook . The first layout is for the sketch, which looks like..

I have followed the sketch pretty closely.

a closer view.

I had a bit of a tidy up and I found lots of lace so I have used lace on all 3 of my layouts. I did a little bit of stencilling for interest and fussy cut the sunflowers to match my photo..

There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.

The next layout I would like to share is for the Monochromatic challenge where we were allocated a color, and the color I got was brown.. humm I wondered if I had any brown in my stash, I need not have worried, yes I found brown.. I kinda went with a Vintagey look..

a closer view.

I found I had brown and hessian flowers and I used them.. I found this clock face with a horse on it and as my Dad loved horses I used that in this cluster.. other things I used on my page were die cut wheat as my Dad was a Farmer and grew wheat at times for the grain for his cattle..

Sweet memories

I love this photo of two of my daughters and my Dad..very precious memories now..  I like how this turned out..

and the final layout is for the One Word challenge, to use either a G or D or T for the title word on your layout. and use some texture paste through a stencil... and I chose G for Grin and used a photo of my Grandie when she was so little and she had a very cheeky grin!!

a closer view.

just a view of the cluster with fussy cut flowers and again I used a clock face..

Grin.

Just a little bit of stencilling on the side of my page to compliment the softness of the page..

So there are my 3 layouts, I did enjoy creating them.. I hope to do some more creating before the month is out, but life has a way of getting busy when you least expect it! Thanks for dropping by, and do take care.. until next time..

November One Word Challenge Soul Scrappers

Hello there, well December has snuk in on me!! Cant snooze or the days will just keep going by!

We have been busy around the house doing some renovating, and so I have been off doing that! But I managed to get a layout done for last months Challenge over at Soul Scrapper on Facebook for the One Word Challenge and it was to use the letter A, P or E as the title for your layout.. I choose the letter E for Explore and I have used a photo of my Grandies off exploring at a Cactus Farm in April this year..

a couple of closer views.

I have used the beautiful 49andMarket papers Tranquility.

Explore

So I hope to get in and do some creating this month to share, and somehow think about Christmas which is going to come very quickly methinks!! Do you create cards for Christmas? I have for the last several years.. so that is on my to do list!! and also think about the menu for Christmas day, which is usually the same as the year before, with maybe some new dishes to try... With the weather so hot here at the moment, it will be salads and cold meats I am thinking..

So thanks for coming by, and do take care.. until next time..

Soul Scrappers November Card Challenges

Hello there on this fine November day! I hope things are well with you! This month is galloping along and it is getting very summery in my part of the world!

I have been creating some cards for the November Card Challenges over at Soul Scrappers Challenges on Facebook  and it was great to sit and get out some Christmas stash and make some cards.. So without further ado I will just share my cards and what challenge they were for...

Shazza's challenge was to add a poinsettia to your card..

I used some dies and made my poinsettia.. very old papers were used for this card..

Libby asked to use a Christmas Bird on your card..

I used a bird that was on the papers and cut it out and matt it on some red paper and then popped that on a doiley that had been cut and was on my desk!!

Jane wanted us to use punches and traditional colors..

I have used a corner punch, the holly leaf punch and a Martha Stewart punch.. I think Red Green and Gold are traditional colors.

Mitzi wanted us to create a whimsical card..

I thought these Ginger Bread Men were quite whimsical!! and the cute bow was too!!

Shazza wanted us to add a wreath on our card..

I simply used a die to cut out a wreath..

And lastly Libby wanted us to add the word "Joy" to our card..

I made the poinsettia from dies and the words are from the papers I used..

I had fun creating these cards, I guess they will come in handy very soon as the festive season approaches..  I do like to make my cards for Christmas, sometimes they are all different and sometimes I just make the same in an assembly line type of production.. mind you I don't send as many as I used to, seems like a tradition that only the older ones still do..

Thank you for coming by today, I hope you have a blessed day.. until next time.. take care..

Hello there, and Hello November! Definitely the down hill slide to the end of the year.. I do hope things are going well for you whatever you are up to. We had some very needed rain here today, and I am so thankful for it.

Well the new issue of the Scrapbookers Journal  is out and I have two layouts in  this issue.. Louise does an amazing job putting it all together and I am chuffed to see my 2 layouts in there with all the creatives!

My layouts are in the Christmas layouts section.

The first one I used a photo of my Daughters dog Alfie in his Christmas hat, haha he makes me laugh!!

Just a little closer view..

The poinsettia is an embroidered badge that I have had in my stash for ages and the star is fussy cut from the papers.. Lots of older products on this page..

Tis the season.

Oh he is hilarious!! The papers are mostly Kaisercraft and a Charms Star was perfect for this page!

The second layout is also for the Christmas section.

a closer view..

These papers are also Kaisercraft and are a non traditional color scheme..

Together

A little touch of stamping on the background and layering al the elements..  and it is almost time for this years Santa photo.. my goodness!!  The shops are filling the shelves with Christmas stuff already.. I  pray for peace for this world, that would be the best Christmas gift for us all
