Beautiful moments - BITW

HI there...it is a fabulous Friday here, and I got in and did some scrapping!! The latest word @ BITW is the word SPARKLE.. well after looking at some photos to see what inspired me for the word SPARKLE, I found this one of my youngest.. and I couldn't go past it..
There is no denying my youngest Daughter is adopted, I am proud of that fact, and I am proud of how she looks when she wears the dress from her Indian heritage... And there would be no better example of the word Sparkle than this photo of her..

Beautiful moments are like gems, they add sparkle to our life...

I have used some old papers, websters rose ribbon which I added sequins to, lace, some old chipboard that is painted and spickled,  a prima butterfly, and a gorgeous Zva flourish.. ( lots of sparkle!!hehe!!)

and a little closey....

Thanks for coming by, and have a wonderful weekend!

and just a few more days left for the SKETCHES WITH A TWIST MARCH SKETCH challenge to use this sketch

and have 3 identical embellishments on your layout... Thank you for all those who have joined in...

Can you help?

Hi.. I am just letting you know about what one of my blog friends is involved in at the moment...
Annette from Moment in Time is invovled in a charity and she is asking for us to do a ATC...
more details.....

Dear Friends

I am involved with the Be Uplifted Inc. charity,
which raises funds to assist
women & their families during diagnosis, treatment & recovery.
I have been asked to do some art work to be displayed
in the oncology unit at a local Brisbane Hospital
and I had a wonderful thought!!!!
My thought was:
'Would all my scrap booking friends & their friends be interested in making an
ATC in PINK with an Uplifting Word or Quote on it???'
my objective is then to adhere them to a canvas or frame them behind glass for display.
As they will be glued down your names need to be separate
so it can be added beneath your ATC.
Patients will be able to read & admire these whilst they are going through their chemo treatment.
What do you think ??? Will you participate???
Anyone can join in local, interstate or international.
All participants need to do is:
1. Leave a  comment in the comments box
2. create an ATC in PINK, with an Uplifting Word or Quote by the 30th April.
3. Email me at annetteswv@gmail.com so I can give you my postal addy.
As May is the birthday month of Be Uplifted
I would love to have it framed and ready to present at our mid-May function.
On behalf of the Be Uplifted team
I thank you for helping us to help others.
Annette

So if anyone would like to be involved in this wonderful cause to create an ATC then please go to Annette's blog (the link is above..) and leave a comment and let her know you want to be involved and then email Annette and get her address so you can post off your ATC to her....
Thank you all so much!!

I miss this place - OUAS

The latest challenge at OUAS HERE is to use the sketch..
and to begin your journalling with the words 'I MISS..." well I still have my parents, my siblings, and yes I have lost very dear people in my life, but when I sat and thought about what I REALLY missed,  it was my Dads farm.. yes the home where I grew up, and where I long to go back to... It was my Grandfathers farm, a dairy farm.. and my Dad lost his father when Dad was only 4....So my Grandmother kept the farm going until Dad was old enough to take it over.....Dad sold the farm in 2003, and always wishes he was back there.. so there is a sadness in our hearts for the place where we both grew up...

I miss this place....

This photo was taken not long before the farm was sold... The hill in the background was a favorite place for adventures, and we took visitors up there a lot.. I even rode my horse up there.. The view from the top was magnificent and you could see for miles and miles.. So I hope this fits the criteria, as I really do miss this place...
I used Websters papers cut up and did some stamping as well!
Thanks for your visit and for any comments too!!

Charmer - BITW

The latest word on BITW HERE is charm... or charming... I went with the word Charmer... We have a horse here at the moment... he isn't ours as such, but he is staying here as his owner needed a paddock for him... and we have one..and he is such a charmer...If you are a horse nutter like we are, then you will understand how a horse can nuzzle his way into your heart.. !! He comes over to the fence and puts his head on you, and puts his nose all over you... and when he is finished, he will walk off and go and eat again...

Charmer!!

I have used Pink Paislee butterfly garden papers, scrap matts fence, scrap fx horse shoes, and used a die for the leaves...

and just to show you what a charmer this horse is....... a couple of  photos I got a few weeks ago!!

I told my daughter to sit on the gate and the horse came up to her for his cuddles!!

Thanks for coming by, and I hope you are having a fabulous day!!

You rock my world - HBS march sketch

My son is a drummer and has been since he was about 15.. He loves it.. and I think he is really good at it.. but just quietly.... the music his band plays... it is not the sort of music I could sit down and relax to... if you get my drift!!! however, when I printed off this photo I wanted to do a grungy rocknroll layout for him... not sure if I have a totally rad layout, but I hope he likes it!! and I used the Handmade by Susanne SKETCH which looks like this..........
and my layout...........

The rock star scroll was cut out of a magazine and the papers I have used are really old ones.. so good to get into the stash and use it up a bit...

It has been a pretty good week for me scrapping wise and I thank you all so much for coming by and leaving comments.. I hope you are having a great day!! xx

Spanish Eyes - Daring you to scrap

The March challenge at Daring you to scrap HERE is to use old school photos or a photo strip.. I have had this photo strip for many years so I was glad to use it on this layout.. the photos are my DD Bethany who has been mistaken for someone from the  Mediterranean region.. When she was in Italy they thought she was Italian, when she was in Spain, they thought she lived there.. however on my Husbands side way back there is Spanish ancestry.... so  I titled this layout.......

Spanish Eyes....

I kept to a black and white color scheme as the photos were taken when she was a Bridesmaid and her dress was black.. ... the flower stem on the left is a sticker... the zipper flower is from Bella, and there is a Prima black pearl  flourish on the right side...Martha Stewart punched edges...and soooo glad to finally use that old Film Strip!!!

Thanks for popping by.....and all comments are appreciated too!!

I have used about 99% Kaiser little toot, the only thing not Kaiser is the string and the few washers...

Did someone say layers?

The latest challenge for WW1 HERE   is to use white with kraft and layers.... I just love Layers, and everyone is using them on their layouts..So I thought I would create a layout using these criteria and you gota admit white and kraft looks so good.. The layouts others have done for this challenge so far are stunning...
I have used this photo before, but it was just there already printed out... so I created with it....

Dream... I used the wonderful MS punches for a lot of the edges...my cricut for the large half circle above the photo... some lace...and punched flowers...

Thanks for popping in.... I hope your day is going great!!
