Soul Scrappers Challenge - One Word

Hello there, I hope you are doing as well as can be. We have had a lingering touch of winter the last few days, and hopefully there is some rain on the way.. It has been getting dry around here..

I am trying to do more scrapping, not succeeding much, but I have managed a layout for the challenge for SOUL SCRAPPERS ON FACEBOOK  which runs amazing challenges each month.. They have moved to Facebook so I hope to join in more with them.. The challenge I have created for is called "ONE WORD" and it is to choose between G.L or E and create the title of your page using a word starting with one of those letters.. I chose G and did a layout of my Grandie Gloria..

some closer views..

I have created a girly layout with pink and flowers and a hint of stencilling on the back ground.

A little bit of lace and a favourite punched edge..

Make sure you  pop over to their facebook site and see if you can join in too. There are 6 scrappy challenges each month,, I hope I can get my act together and get more creating done.

September creating for Scrapmatts

Hello there! How are you today? It is Spring and my garden is singing with blooms and bees and I love it!

So I have a layout with a spring feel to it to share with you today. In September there is in Toowoomba a Carnival called "the Carnival of Flowers' and there are many private gardens as well as the Parks that are especially prepared for this time. For todays layout I am using a photo of my Daughter sitting in front of a beautiful bed of Lavender taken quite a years ago during the Carnival of Flowers.

and I will share some closer views of the lovely Scrapmatts products I have used.

I stenciled some leaves onto the background for some interest.. I had some Federations Corners that I painted with white acrylic paint and popped them in the corners of the background page.. I also wiped some white gesso around the edges with my finger. The leaf spray was painted with water colors.. I did lots of layers of the water colors to bring up the color.

This is a close up of the layered Design, the bottom piece was painted with the purple and the top piece was painted with white.. It makes a lovely contrast. My title came from the Assorted Words pack.

I thought this Flower sprig worked well on my page.

On the other side of my photo I used the Lavender Spray and those sweet little butterflies were from that pack too.

and my layout..

humm I can almost smell the lavender!!

Thanks for coming by, I do appreciate each visit.. I hope you are keeping well and safe.

Until next time..

Kraft+ September - Inspired by Laura Horn

Hello there! Well Spring has sprung! We have had warmer days and a couple of little showers and the gardens are singing!! Time to also pop up the new challenge for Kraft+ (check out the blog here!!!) which is one that is sure to get you creating something fun! and it is..

Now if you are like me I did not know who this was, but after checking out Laura Horn Art on Youtube than I had more knowledge of this wonderful creative artist.. I found she used words like 'mark making' 'acrylic layering' 'textured layers' and she used circles, dots, lines, brush strokes. So that is what i used on the back ground of my page..

some closer views..

Lots of acrylic paints, textures from mesh, lines from paint pens.

Then I added some stencilling.. lots of fun!

I then put my photo down began to embellish around it..

and my finished layout..

Such a lot of fun... You can check out the Kraft+ Design Team inspiration on the blog HERE!!! and also pop over to the Kraft + Community page on Facebook to join in with us!

Thanks for coming by today.. I have a few things going on privately and I know many are doing it tough with lock downs.. I hope you get some time to create or do what makes your soul happy.. for me that also includes getting out in my garden..  Take care and see you next time..
