WW1 - reposting

There are some really lovely scrappers out there in blog land..  really lovely.... when I did this layout for WW! I thought it looked a bit similar to another layout done for this challenge, so I was happy to not put it in the challenge, until I got a comment to put it in the gallery.. so I will...and thank you to this lovely lady for calming my fears and just being a lovely lady...and a really talented scrapper.. thank you.Cathy..I always love what you create..

We had to use white cream and chipboard... the chipboard frame is a scrapmatts, they make the most amazing chippies, and I usually get a stash of them when I go to any craft shows.. and next week I will get lots...some... heck... LOTS more!!haha!!

and I did a card for the FWAB May sketch challenge.. yes I did a card!! what is happening to me!!!??? Now I know what happens to old scrapbookers.... they turn into card makers!!!haha!

and a new month tomorrow..  so a pinch and a punch for a new month!!

thanks for coming by, and I appreciate all the comments that you leave me!

two hearts one road - sassy scrapper sketch

Good day to you! the next layout I have done is based on the may sketch from SASSY SCRAPPER which looks like this....

I had this photo sitting on my desk from last year (that gives you some indication of how often I tidy my desk!!!!) and thought I would use it... and then I found these papers from authentique that enticed me to use them as they had the flowers which just begged for some fussy cutting.... and being in the mood on saturday to sit and zone out with fussy cutting.... I created this layout of hubby and I walking down our road. with Lucy our  fox terrier following  closely behind.. The photo was taken in January last year and I have used it before,... but as it was already printed out.... I went with it....

two hearts, one road....

a closer view .... I have used kindy glitz on the roses and leaves and they really sparkle in real life!! Random punching along the edge with decorative scissors..

Thanks for coming by and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!!

Enjoy your life - 123 challenge May

Well I cant complain about the wintery conditions we are having at the moment, I just go into my scrap room and create in my warm house with the fire going...
And that is what I have been doing this morning..
I created a layout for the 123 May challenge where we had to use the word ENJOY use the color ORANGE and use BAKERS TWINE..
I found this photo of my great nephew and thought it was perfect for this layout..

ENJOY YOUR LIFE..

Now don't laugh at these old papers, I have had them for years... and now they have come in handy for this layout!!haha!! I heard a good quote the other day...... you are not a hoarder if you eventually use the stuff!!! I guess that makes me feel a bit better at having papers for more than a few years.. I will get around to using them!!
So there is orange, there is the word Enjoy and there is bakers twine!!

Thanks for coming by,  I hope you are enjoying your day today!! Thanks for your comments too!!

Dream - white with one May

Since I started scrapbooking, rainy days are great days for getting in the scrap room... and so I was able to get in there this morning as it rained outside and create..
I love the layouts I have seen for the May WW1 which is to use white, cream and chipboard... what a soft pretty color combo.. I used a photo of my daughter Hannah looking out her window... I used a lovely scrapmatts flourish frame, which I left raw, and MS punch and some cutting with my cricut and a couple of dies with the big shot, two paper doileys,  some mini rose buds, and some kaiser pearls.

dream.....

Thanks for dropping by, and your comments are really appreciated too...

POST EDITED///  I have just been to the WW1 site and have seen another layout there that uses a scrapmatts flourish chipboard also..  I have not copied their beautiful layout in any way and love the creator of the layout so I have decided not to enter this layout into the challenge... I am happy with my decision and hope everyone understands..I know in the world of scrapping there are sure to be layouts that look the same in some way as we all take inspiration from each other, but this is totally a coincidence as I look at 100's of blogs each week and I have created my layout out of my head but I just feel I cant enter this layout into the same challenge as someone else who created a layout before me....So thanks everyone, I hope this makes sense to you!! and I may just go and try and do another challenge!!

Smile - BITW

The new BITW word is SMILE. What a wonderful word to use in your title or journalling.. I have chosen a quote which I love....A smile is the key that fits the lock to anyones heart...
I have used Prima papers and some really old Prima flowers and some new dies for my big shot (the hearts and oval doileys)

I even used gusso and white paint with a butterfly mask for the first time too!! Sorry for the glare on the photo, I took the photo out in the afternoon sun... still trying to find the best way to photograph my layouts..

Thanks for coming by, and your comments really are encouraging to me!!

Scrap Friends sketch - Hannah and Blue

What a beautiful Autumn day it is here, the washing is drying on the line, the floors got washed, and I have even had some time in my scrap room... with the start of the month comes so many challenges...
I thought I would have a go at the SCRAPFRIENDS SKETCH  #1 and I used it like this...

The photo is Hannah and the horse that is staying at our place, his name is Blue.. I have used the These Days papers from Kaiser, I made the flower near the title, and cut the little fence with my cricut..

So thanks for your visit and thank you too for your lovely comments!!

Once upon a Sketch - theme Mothers

Well for us in Australia, the second Sunday in May is Mothers Day... The day where we are waited on hand and foot by our adoring children....(cough cough!!) well that is the plan!! So it makes sense to find challenges with the theme of Mothers this month...and so it is for OUAS...

Theme: Mum
We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Mum" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch.

This month is also the month I first became a Mum nearly 27 years ago now...
So I thought I would do a layout remembering and celebrating this.
The photo is of my son and I in 1985 so it is not of the good quality of the digital we have these days.. I can't believe how fast the time has gone... So to all you young Mums out there reading this.... cherish every moment with your children, they grow up so fast and are out in the world too soon.. yes your life is busy when they are little, but I look back on those days and I cherish them...

The quote I have used in my journalliing is....

When a baby is born, so is a Mother...

and a bit of a closer view...

I used Kaiser Sweet Nothings papers and die cuts, Kaiser wooden clock and some really old layered flowers..

Thanks for coming by, and thank you for any comments too!!

May Sketches with a Twist

Happy May! yes it is time to flip the calendar over again!! 5th month of the year... and the May Sketches with a Twist Sketch is this one.......

and before you freak out I found the sketch a lot of fun to do and I stuck to the foundation of it and found it came together nicely.... the twist is to have some sewing on it somewhere... so my take on it......

Christmas 2010.

I have hand sewing around the edge of my layout... I am still finding Christmas photos not yet scrapped so this was a great sketch to use 3 photos in....
I hope you join in with this challenge this month...

thanks for coming by, and thank you for your lovely comments which I really enjoy reading!!
