Smile - Daring you to scrap..

Hi....

The April challenge at Daring you to scrap is to use this sketch...

for your inspiration... Well when I saw this sketch, I really didn't know where to start... but I started by punching around the edge of white cardstock and have a few sprays of pink, yellow and blue mist and going from there! and this is my finished layout..

It all reminded me of a clothes line, which is where I got the journalling from... The most beautiful thing that you can wear is your smile!!

The next layout is for Handmade by Suzanne to use this sketch

I sort of stuck to the sketch! well there is a resemblance to it anyway!!!!!
I still have school photos that are waiting to be scrapped!! these are from 2010..

I used Graphic 45 papers..

and just for a little bit of a brag...

. after about 3 years of trying....

. this month it finally happened....

I was published in Scrapbooking Memories...Yaaaaa!! (yes that is me in the left corner... )  The layout is about my dear Mum-in-law on her 70th birthday, and now this dear lady is going through treatments for cancer.. so it is kinda special to me that this layout celebrating her was published...

Anyway thanks for coming by and sharing my layouts and my little bit of excitement!!

I hope you all are having a great day.... and all comments are so welcome!!

Paris - BITW

Gidday!

The new word/s at BITW is look/see either word or both.. well I used both...hehe!! The photo is of my daughter Hannah when she had climbed the Eiffel Tower and I have used the Bonjour Papers from Kaiser...
My journalling reads...."Stopping for a LOOK at the top of the Eiffel Tower, you could SEE the amazing sights of Paris..."

Lucky girl to have gone to Paris!!

I lifted the second layer of the bunting with foam dots..

I took the photo of the layout in the sun, that is why there is a shadow near the butterfly, but the shadow on Hannah is from the Eiffel Tower...

I hope you are having a good day, thanks for calling by, and always appreciate it when you take the time to leave a comment!!

A sketch and a card...

Well Hello there! As the weather here today was grey I thought a day in my scrap room would be very much the place for today!
I finished off a layout I started for the April sketch challenge for Annas Craft Cupboard which looked like this....

So I used the first photo I came across in my drawer and I created this layout of my 2 sisters and I...  The lace along the bottom of the photo I think my sister (sitting closest to me) gave me once, I made the two big flowers, the flourishes were cut on my big shot, and also used MS punches..

Sisters...

and I thought I would do a card for the Flourish with a bling april challenge which was to take inspiration from this picture..
and I came up with this card... which I am happy with....(as someone who doesn't do many cards!!) the orange flourish really sparkles...

So that is how I spend some of today, thanks for sharing my day, and thanks for any comments you leave me!!

Happy - STG's April challenge..

The latest challenge at STG is to use this sketch for your layout..

This is a size I dont usually do, but I thought I would have a try.. I made the layout that size, and just put it on a 12 by 12 paper so I could put it in the album I have..

It is a lovely size to scrap I must admit, and I tried to leave it simple..

Happy....

Thanks for your visit and thanks for any comments, they are always welcome..

I don't know what the FUTURE holds - BITW

The latest BITW is to use the word FUTURE, a very interesting word indeed.. A lot of thought came to mind with this word, but I went with this quote..."I don't know what the Future holds, but I know Who holds the future."  Life is uncertain and some weeks it feels like the world has gone crazy.. but I am trusting that God has it all in His control, and although I am still human and I still worry, I try and trust that He holds the future...

I have used a MS punch around the edge, Kaiser Miss Nelly papers and stickers, roses and a beautiful diolley that Keren Tamir sent me in her give away...(yes I did cut it in half!!) If you know the sticker sheet that comes in this range, I cut the flower spray in half and layered the rose with foam tape on top of the other rose and fussy cut out a few more flowers and leaves from the papers.

and I saw this this morning.. BITW -Charm winner... wow!! what a fabulous surprise..

So if you haven't done a BITW challenge before, why not have a go.. I love to think of a quote or how to use the word in some way that matches the photo..

Thanks for coming by, and I really do appreciate your comments...

Beauty full - Get Picky inspiration challenge

A big thank you to the team at Get Picky for all the amazing challenges you have provided to me to get me thinking and sometimes out of my comfort zone..I haven't done every challenge but the ones I have done have been really inspiring.. So I knew I had to do this last one..http://getpicky.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/final-inspiration-prompt.html and what an amazing piece of writing for our last inspiration.. I thought straight away of the two most beautiful ladies in my life.. my Mum and my Mum in law.. Both have known hard times and struggles, but they remain the most beauty full ladies I know.. I hope I can be a little bit like them as I get older... I have put the verse on my layout between the photos...

these two are so BEAUTY FULL.....

I have used Prima papers and an old felt bird thingy I cut in half, hand made flowers a flourish and doilley cut with my big shot and some masking...
Thank you Get Picky and I do wish you all the best for your future endeavors...
and thank you too for any comments!!

From this moment....

Hi.. I hope you all have had a lovely Easter spending it the way you like, for us it is the remembrance of Jesus death on the cross and rising again which is the basis of my faith and my hope.. and we have the chocolate eggs and family time and going to Church..

So after a busy weekend I managed some time scrapping.. I have done this layout using the Kaiser range Sweet Nothings.. I think it is a lovely range of papers for Weddings and for love... I have a photo of my Nephew and his new bride at their wedding in September 2011..  This layout will be going into the Kaiser store in Toowoomba for display.. I was so excited when I was asked to do some layouts for their store..

I guess we can all remember this moment... the time of the Wedding Vows.. I love this photo...

From this moment...

Thanks for dropping in and thanks so much for the comments you leave.. They are so uplifting!!

Number ten - OUAS april challenge

The latest sketch at OUAS is to use this sketch

and do a layout with the theme of HOME.. I hope what I have done is acceptable as I have taken a different approach to my journalling... The photo I have used is a photo of my home taken in January 2011 after the devastating floods that came to our district. The police tape on our mail box meant that the Police had visited us and all people that lived there were accounted for (that is what a police person told us after they put the tape on our mail box). And the brief journalling words are a blunt description of what was happening at that time.. We were spared from getting water through our home, many along our road were not. We lost two lives from along our road... so the words I have used are all the words I want to use for this layout..
I have turned the sketch once clockwise to suit my photo...

Number ten...

and a closey...

This layout has also been a bit of therapy for me... I am so very thankful that our home was spared the floods, but the scars of the day still remain..

Thanks for your visit, and as always your comments are really appreciated...

Can you believe it is April...?? no joke??!! so that means new challenges are being put up, and the April sketch for SWAT is this....

and the twist is to use mesh on your layout somewhere... be it any sort of mesh...

My take on the sketch .... and  I used some mesh ribbon I have had for ages...

and a closey...
