remains of the day - once upon a sketch june 15th

when i saw this challenge http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-15th-challenge.html to use this sketch  and to make the photos and journalling about something memorable i just had to do something about the recent floods we had in Queensland in January. Our land backs onto a creek which turned into a murderous torrent on January 10.
When i check out what others have done for this challenge, they are beautiful layouts on beautiful moments in time... but mine is somber and reflective. I turned the sketch clockwise once and only used two photos. The pictures and journalling describe a time after the flood where i am still trying to comprehend it all..Even now,  i am sad writing this as there is still a lot of hurt and blame being felt by people in my district. This layout is more about therapy for me than being part of a challenge.. So thank you for looking and all comments are appreciated..

  3. Dear Lizzy I adore your layout! And the most adorable about this is that you managed to create a nice layout based on green (the colour of hope) for such a sad moment. I'm sure it's very therapeutical for you but also for your family. Take care and always be strong! Love from Greece who's trying to stand up...

  13. That's ok - you're allowed to do sombre and reflective, as you said, it's part of the therapy. So for that fact alone it's a wonderful page. But it's also very beautiful with heartfelt journaling. Well done!
