Scrapmatts Creating for December

Hello there! I am just popping up my Design Team creating for Scrapmatts for this month.. I am running a little behind as these went up on the Scrapmatts Blog on the 15th... but hey, it is the silly season! I hope things are going well for you and you are looking forward to some special family time over the next week or so..

I created two layouts this month using some lovely Scrapmatts products.. I will just show some closer views and then the layout..

The flourish and the hearts were painted with water color paints.. I left the frame and words natural.

Some of the paint flicked off the chipboard but I didn't mind the aged look..

One of my favourite stencils is this Hanging Hearts Stencil..

I seem to have a thing for circle photos at the moment!! It cuts out the background and centres on the people in the photo..

The second layout is a Christmassy one using an older photo of my daughter..

some closer views..

I made some flowers using chipboard flowers and die cut flowers, and layered the pieces together..

I did some stencilling on the back ground just using gold paint..

Again I just used water colors to add color to the chipboard..

A closer views of the flowers that turned out ok I think!!

and my layout..

Thank you for coming by today, I may not get back before Christmas so I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the very best for the new Year ahead. .For me it is a time to also remember the reason for the season.. The birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.. I hope you get to spend some special moments with those you love over the coming days...  And I pray we all stay safe and well in 2022..

until next time....

More Than Words - November Challenge

 Hello there,

How are things with you.. I sure hope you are doing ok..

I am just popping up my Art Journal Pages for the November challenge over at MORE THAN WORDS which is

To use the mood board and be inspired by the word GRATITUDE. When I think of Gratitude I think of being thankful..  being grateful for what I have.. so I have used a quote on my pages.. I have used some images from an old calendar, which I fussy cut and glued on my pages... but first... I have a few steps to share with you about how I created my pages..

I started with cutting out random sized squares from papers with the colors from the mood board which I glued on the pages and then I did a gesso wash (gesso and water) and left that to dry..I then used mists to add some colors..  I added some more gesso around the page with my finger until I was happy with how it looked..

Sorry about the photos, the pages are warped from using liquids..  I then did some stamping using a few different stamps.. and added some washi tape.

and then I glued on my images and the quote on the pages.

I used a water color pencil with a fine paint brush and added some black around the birds and the leaves for some definition.

and my pages..

So much to be thankful for.

Yes I do... even when things are hard, I can still be thankful.. there are always blessings to count..

Thank you More Than Words for another great challenge to get me creating in my Art Journal Book..

Thank you too for your visit and any comments.. I appreciate you..

Do take care..  until next time..

November Scrapmatts creating

 Hello there!!

Well we are on the down hill slide to the end of the year, and often it can be a very busy time. I have a layout to share with you today that I hope will inspire you to create a page using some fabulous Scrapmatts chipboard that I have left raw or uncolored.. It gives such an organic look that works well for any style. (and it helps to get a page done a little quicker!!!)

As I have used a white cardstock for the base I wanted to add just a hint of color and I did this by using an ink pad and a dauber and a pretty stencil..

I then sprayed a bit of water onto the stencil and patted it onto my layout to add some splats and splodges.. and remember to clean off your stencil after use.. (I just used a baby wipe).

Then it was onto deciding how I was going to use the papers and layering under the photo.

I have used the beautiful Wildflowers chipboard frame around my photo. It looks so good raw and I found this title was just right too.. It stands out in the black.. ready to use.. so good..

I did some fussy cutting of these papers and layered them with some old cardboard..The simple leaf spray added a little bit of dimension but not too thick for my album.

I did a little corner embellishment and placed the Wildflower chipboard on top to add to the cluster..

and my layout.. Dare to Dream.

The Scrapmatts Chipboard looks good embossed or colored with paint, but I like it just the way it is for this  soft feminine layout..

Well I cant believe how quickly time is gong by.. Thanks for dropping by today.. take care..thanks for any comments.. until next time..

So a new month means new crafty challenges to help you get some creating done.. The November challenge for KRAFT+  is a fabulous one and one I enjoyed creating for.. and it is..

To be inspired by this board All Creatures Great and Small.. and on a base of Kraft of course..  Well what to choose? I have had a lot of furry friends in my life but I have to admit I was inspired by the little photos of the doggie, which looks a lot like my Daughters Dog Alfie.. so I found a photo and began creating.. I have used an old Kaisercraft collection of papers for this page..

some closer views..

The flowers have been in my stash for ages too.. so good to use them...

I love my dog.

Such a great challenge this month.. the hardest part will probably settling on a photo!!

More Than Words October Main Challenge - Write and Magazines

Hello there.. How are you? As well as can be I hope...

I am just popping up my creating for the Main Challenge over at MORE THAN WORDS which is now to create  Art Journal Pages.. Now I am a beginner at Art Journaling.. I have done a class and I watch a lot of YouTubes with very talented artists who take the time to make the videos and share with us.. Among my favourites are France Papilion and Maremi Small Art and others that pop up on YouTube.

and the challenge is..

To be inspired by the word WRITE and use Magazines. Well I dont buy magazines usually so I got a mag from Coles and used that!!

I have taken some step photos as I created.

I tore out some pages with the colors I thought I might use.. and then I ripped up some pieces of papers and glued them on my pages. I have used a smallish sized book with each page measuring 14cm by 20cm.

I then used two stencils and did some random stencilling.

I then used a glimmer mist for color.

I then added some stamping and some stickers

I then added some cut out circles and hearts from the magazine papers. I went around the edges with a black pen and then added some black with a pastel crayon and smudged the edges to make them softer.

For this journal I am creating pages with meaning or inspiration, so I found a Bible verse with the word WRITE in it and used that as well as using my hand writing for my pages.

and my pages..

I still feel like such a beginner but I have found Art Journaling is another great way to sit and forget the troubles for a while and create something with meaning as well as just playing with products.. I dont have anything special, just old mists and water colors and stamps and stencils..There are many wonderful artists who inspire me.. Thank you MORE THAN WORDS for this fabulous challenge.. I did enjoy creating for it.. I hope to join in with more of these challenges..

Thanks for coming by and visiting my little blog today.. I do appreciate each one coming by..

Until next time.. take care..

Scrapmatts creating for October

Hello there! How is your October going? I hope things are well with you..

Today I am sharing with you my layout I have created with some wonderful Scrapmatts products.

I have a few of the lovely Arch Window Frames in my stash and I wanted to use them in a different way on my page.. They make great frames around photos but I felt like cutting them up and placing on my page as features.

As I usually do I started by adding some interest to the back ground with stencils, one with texture paste and the other with an ink pad and dauber.

I cut one frame in half and I left one frame whole.

I kept a bit of a butterfly theme happening with these chipboard butterflies that I colored with glitter gel pens, adding different layers of color until I was happy with the rustic look.

I colored the feathers the same way with different glitter gel pens to give a multi-colored look. and placed them over some fussy cut feathers.

and my layout.

Remember to smile everyday.

Just a quick post to share my Design Team creating for this month.. the months sure are flying by..
Thanks so much for coming by.  Thanks for any comments you leave me.. until next time...
