Hi there! I hope your weekend is going well... I am sitting here listening the last bits of a storm that had come across a couple of hours ago..
I have created a layout for the November Scrapbook Store Sketch... which looks like this....
Now the layout I completed nearly didn't make it.. I had started it for something else and it was just not coming together, so I ripped off the top papers and photo and was nearly going to bin it all until I saw this sketch on my desk and had a play and came up with this layout... So there, I admit to sometimes creating a real dud...and I am also trying to find a better way to photograph my layouts too.. I have the layout propped up on a basket in my room, as opposed to having it on the floor and standing over it to take a photo...So any feedback will be appreciated on how to get a good photo of a layout to put on a blog...
Wonderful You...
and a closeup...
A big thank you for coming by, and thank you for any comments you leave too...
Glad you didn't bin it....LOVE the colours & it works really, really well...great misting & those stripes on the left look fab:):) The layering of the shapes looks great, too....I think this is a lot clearer [sharper] than usual...so maybe it's best to photograph this way? It's just finding the right amount of light coming at the right angle, so it's trial & error, really...this looks fine, to me:):)
ReplyDeleteA stunning layout!!! Gald you did not bin it. Love love the colours as well. I take my photos outside onthe ground in the shade. I find this gives me the best light without shaddows. But I would say how you took this layout works a treat :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful...and your clustered flowers are stunning. Love the colours together.
ReplyDeleteThat has some really great looks and textures!!! Really glad you decided to save it!!! That row of flowers all hanging out together are so lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteThe picture is amazing what a beautiful girl you have...Lovely page you have made to with the sketch...yummie flowers.

Love the LO. The bright colors you used really make her picture stand out!! Gorgeous work
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! The colors probably helped brighten the stormy day you had.
ReplyDeleteI truly LOVE your layout , it is just so beautiful as with your subject pic. Her smile would brighten up any day . I love the flowers and colours you have chosen. x
ReplyDeleteI too am glad you didn't bin this one. I found a tip on line somewhere (can't remember where) that showed how you can correct the lighting on a layout. It said to used photoshop elements and click enhance, adjust lighting, levels and I usually use 'auto' - you will be able to see where it corrects and changes and if you like it you can save. I sometimes use this process if my pages photograph really dull and lifeless.
ReplyDeletethis is totally fabulous, I am so glad it did not end up in the bin also. It is amazing how we can 'fix' something we're not happy with and come up with something truly beautiful. I love it. Its fantastic to see you join in The Scrapbook Store sketch this month!! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the summery colors, Lizzy! Great save :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't bin this Lizzy, it is just gorgeous and I love the color combinations you have used. I like the new improved photos too! xox
ReplyDeletebeautiful work - glad it didn't end in the bin :) the flowers looks so pretty. (I usually photograph my pages against a white wall)

ReplyDeleteLizzy I am always in awe of the wonderful details and how pretty your layouts are. This one is no exception, the colors are so beautiful together and as always the photos of your daughter gorgeous! Pleased to hear you missed the brunt of all those wild storms xx
ReplyDeleteIt is so frustrating when your page isn't what you want but well done on creating this beautiful page anyway. Perfect for the sketch.
ReplyDeleteI lay my page on the floor and then take my photo from above so top, bottom and the left side are in the frame of the photo. Then when I download it to my computer, I just have to crop the right hand side inwards. I then use my computer program to brighten and highlight the colours etc.
Beautiful page Lizzy, so glad you persevered with this one! Gorgeous photo too :)
ReplyDeleteOh your LO is stunning ! especially as you said it started out as a 'dud' ( I have tons of them). Love the richness of your colours. Your page looks great, photography wise, your daughter's beautiful smile fills this page and that's the most important thing.
ReplyDeleteI've nearly binned a few of my layouts too Lizzy... SO! I know the feeling!! BUT! Love the out come!! Such a GORGEOUS layout!!
ReplyDeleteWith photographing my layouts I attach my layouts to a canvas & hang the canvas to a wall & photograph that way... Weird I know.. LOL! BUT! it works for me...... then I brighten & crop my layout though the Picasa 3 program!!
OH! & 1 more thing... THANK you Soooooooo VERY much for all your wonderful & supportive comments!!! much appreciated!! x
What a wonderful layout Lizzy! Your colors and embellishments totally compliment your photo and as always I love all your layers!! As for taking good photos...I struggle with that too...I'll have to check your comments for tips...LOL. xo Evie
ReplyDeleteLOVE this page Lizzy!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are so sunny and happy.
Just DEVINE Lizzy. Such a gorgeous photo too. Cheers Di xo
ReplyDeletebeautiful! those vibrant and bright colors are wonderful
ReplyDeleteHi there Lizzy, love love this bright wonderful layout! It can be tricky to take a good picture of a layout and my piece advice is to have lots of light coming from the side, a sunny window is great! I personally love how Leann Pearce photographs her layout, she has the layout sitting on a beautiful green table :) Have a look around blogs there are some very talented people around!!! That includes you :)))
