O Happy Days - Daring you to scrap July

Wow.. this month has nearly come to an end...I have scrapped another layout this time for Daring you to scrap - July which is to use twine and tape... and as I have some new washi and twine I just had to create a layout.. I have had some Grace Taylor stickers for ages from Big W and I went a bit crazy with them, but I did manage to use up at least 2 packets so I am happy with that, as well as it was great therapy!!

and just for fun I made a card as well!!

Your First Friends - OUAS July

The challenge for OUAS July is to use this sketch....

and the theme is Friends..

I have wanted to scrap this photo for such a long time and this has given me the reason to stop procrastinating and do it!!!

This photo is very special to me and my youngest daughter.. It was taken a few weeks before we arrived to meet her and take her to be in our family.. She is with 2 of her very special little friends and one of her carers..... I am sure you can tell she is the one on the left with the most amazing smile...
I have put my journalling on a card and tucked it into the little envelope, just because it is so special.. I have used the Echo Park papers Hello summer as I wanted this to be bright and happy, just like her smile!!

STB's July - School memories and SOU card sketch

This month at SCRAP THE BOYS the challenge is to use school photos.. Now I love to support as many challenges as I can every month, so I thought  I would give this one a go, mainly as I find the male layouts harder to do and I have to think harder as to how to embellish the page... so I thought a school layout would be a great challenge.. These photos are of my son, taken when he was in Year 12 his senior year and he is in his senior jersey...taken in 2002... Yeech!! that means he was last in school 10 years ago!!!

And STUCK ON YOU SKETCHES have begun to have a card sketch to try, and as I am trying to get better at cards, I thought I would try their sketch and make a card...

I think I definitely need more practice with cards I reckon!!

You Sweet Thing - WW1 July & Scrapjacked July

Well Hello there! Thanks for coming by!!

The July challenge at WW1 is to use white and polka dots and tape.. and I couldn't go past pink polka dots and washi tape.. I had some old papers and some new washi so I went with that...

I added some misted dots on the paper as well...

You sweet thing....

I made some cute washi flags as well as using the washi as stripes above the photo....even the flowers are dotty!!

Also this week I came across the SCRAPJACKED JULY reveal and the card caught my eye which was created by Andrea and looks like this...

and I have scrapjacked it and created my card which looks like this....

The new Bird Word - Reach

The new word for BITW is REACH, and there are sooo many possibilities to use this word in your title or quote or journalling... pop on over and see what the Design Team have created using this word... but before you go, this is my layout!!

This is my DD Bethany who is turning 25 on the 28th July, and she was my strong willed tantrum throwing 2 year old, but I tell you, she is strong and bold and has plans to go to uni next year and I believe she can do anything she puts her heart too..So this quote is so appropriate for her right now!!

Oh and just before I go, I was invited to be a guest designer for SCRAPFRIENDS COLOR CHALLENGE JULY which is to use these yummy colors....

So I took the grey, cream, pink green and red and created this.....

Beautiful You - STG July challenge

The challenge for SCRAP THE GIRLS is to use black white and one other color.. sooo I had this photo and I have used black white and red.... and these colors look wonderful together!!

I have used embossed black card stock and papers from my stash.. I painted the chippie white..the bows are from my stash, martha steward punches, cute little lady birds, roses,  lace and the red hexagons are lifted up on foam tape..

Mum and I - Annas Craft Cupboard July sketch...

Hi.. there, I hope this finds you all well...  I have been a bit slow lately, however I have managed to do a few things in the last week!! It must be the bleak skies that make me feel sluggish!!  I thought a sketch would be something to get me started again.... I hope!! So I found the lovely sketch from ANNAS CRAFT CUPBOARD which I have used like this....

I don't have many photos of my Mum and I, so theses photos are so precious... They were taken on Mothers Day this year, in a park, in the May sunshine... and I love them....

I have made the circle into a oval and put it over the photos instead of under the photos like the sketch suggests...I have used a mix of Kaiser papers for this...

I was also hopping around blogs trying to get some mojo happening, and I saw that SCRAPHAPPYKAT
was having a scrap lift challenge... a scraplift really is good for the slack mojo, so I created a card based on the card given to lift...
While I had the Kaiser papers out I used them and some really old 3-d stickers...

and I am not sure if I have put these two cards on my blog either... I have been enjoying creating cards when I am not feeling too scrapful ( is that a word??)... and one day I am sure they will come in handy to give away...

and yes I do love bows on cards!!

My Girls - 123 Challenge July

Well hello! I feel like I have been on a go slow lately! Must be the cold weather!!

This layout was created for the 123 JULY CHALLENGE which is to use the word MY the color PURPLE and use CHEVRONS..

and the photo I have used is of my Daughters, taken at Easter this year...

New Word for Bird is the Word - BEYOND

The new word for BITW is BEYOND... It may be a bit trickey to use this word, but pop on over to the blog and take a look at the DT layouts and hopefully you will find some inspiration...There is a sketch there too which you may like to use but it is not strictly necessary..

When I was thinking of how I could use the word beyond, a poem came to my mind and then I found a special photo and went with that..

If you have ever lost a dear pet, then perhaps you have heard of the Rainbow Bridge poem but if you haven't you can read about it HERE.. We have had some amazing and much loved pets in our family and one of them was our Labrador cross rotty dog we called Ebony... when she went from our lives she left a big hole.. and somehow I hope there is a rainbow bridge and we will see our special pets again one day... surely there will be animals in Heaven??

BEYOND THE RAINBOW BRIDGE.....

I used a lovely fence and arch from Imaginariam designs chipboard.. and fussy cut the flowers and layered them with foam tape..

I have printed out the Rainbow Bridge poem and put it in a scroll....

I printed out a little bridge and put it behind the chipboard to give the illusion you go under the arch and over the bridge....

Sketches with a Twist July Challenge

A pinch and punch for the new month and it is down hill to Christmas!!!

The new Challenges are being put up all over scrap blog land and the new one for SWAT is to use this fabulous sketch....

and the twist is to use some doodling on your layout... If you dont know what doodling is, it is anything you draw on a paper when you day dream!!hehe! An interesting site I found was THIS ONE which is worth a read if you are not sure what doodling is...The thing is.... it is like scrapbooking.. there are no rules... just have fun!!
