when i saw this challenge http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-15th-challenge.html to use this sketch and to make the photos and journalling about something memorable i just had to do something about the recent floods we had in Queensland in January. Our land backs onto a creek which turned into a murderous torrent on January 10.
When i check out what others have done for this challenge, they are beautiful layouts on beautiful moments in time... but mine is somber and reflective. I turned the sketch clockwise once and only used two photos. The pictures and journalling describe a time after the flood where i am still trying to comprehend it all..Even now, i am sad writing this as there is still a lot of hurt and blame being felt by people in my district. This layout is more about therapy for me than being part of a challenge.. So thank you for looking and all comments are appreciated..

Be amazing - bird is the word challenge
Amazing is the word to be used in a layout for the challenge http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/06/new-bird-challenge-amazing-sunday-june.html and without further ado my layout... my youngest daughter is in the photo this time..
i have kept the layout uncluttered with clean lines and am quite happy with the end result.. i have lifted the roses cut from Kaiser English Rose paper with foam for a bit of dimension..the soft white rose ribbon was a find at the scrapbooking expo.. i am not sure of the make of the die cut cardstock the layout is on..
and a bit of a close up.. thanks for calling in.. and comments are read with excitement and thanks!! xx

Black with two challenge
good day to you!
on a recent blog crawl i came across a site called black with two, and i was intrigued! the latest challenge is to use black cardstock, baby blue color and hearts..http://blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-1st-winner-and-june-15th-new.html
i love the impact black cardstock has on a layout and when i saw the color baby blue i had a brain wave as to what photo i could use.. my bridesmaids wore dresses that were baby blue in color... so i had to try this challenge using a photo of me surrounded by my bridesmaids just before i left for the church..crikey this doesn't seem like 28 1/2 years ago!!!
i have used blue paper and a lovely twiddleybitz garden gazebo painted black, MS punches, black lace, ribbon and Zva creative flourish. my cricut cut the title and the swirly hearts..
i hope i have kept to the critera..
thanks for dropping by!

bird is the word - life - live
Hi.. well can you believe i have done another challenge!!i can hardly believe it myself!!
when i had the papers out from the last layout i did, i thought i would do another layout with them, so this photo of my third child grabbed my eye and i had to use it.. now i really love how scrappers use the small photos.... but when i see the faces of my gorgeous daughters i just want to put a big photo on the layout!!
the challenge from http://birdisthewordchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/05/may-22nd-life-live-living.html was to use the word life or live or living..and i used the sketch for the layout too.. so i thought reminding my daughter about how we have one life to live was a good idea as she is making plans to go overseas soon... i used the Kaiser Chapter One papers again, with a lovely Scrapmatts window frame arch.. i hope they are at the Scrapbooking Expo in Brisbane this weekend.. i need to get me some more of these beautiful chipboard pieces..
my layout...
and a just a bit of a close up.. ( i love Hannah's eyes...) thanks for poppin in and also i really appreciate all the comments...they give me so much encouragement!!xx

once upon a sketch June challenge
well hello! a new month brings new challenges! when i saw the once upon a sketch for June, i was inspired to do a layout.. and when i saw the new Kaiser papers chapter one i knew these papers would suit my girls..
i also used some prima flowers and some bella chippys, The ribbon at the bottom of the layout was hand stitched and then gathered then machine sewed onto the layout and then i ran a string of pearls along it..
i have adapted the sketch to suit my photo and papers but the foundation of the sketch is there..
this is my second child Bethany. I just wanted to somehow do a simple layout expressing my love for her..
thanks for dropping by today!!
