The challenge over at Pixels and Paper is to be inspired by this picture..

I thought of birthdays and so I scrapped a photo of my youngest at her birthday last year.. She has her birthday on the 28th December and it is a busy time of the year.. last year we spent the day out shopping and so I didnt actually get to make her a cake, so I put a candle in a rum ball (no rum in it!!) and we sang happy birthday to her that way!!
Wish.
I have been digging down into my papers and stickers and things and using older things.. trying to use them up!! A few older chipboard stickers on this layout!
And the sketch for Stuck?! October 15th was another great one..
I decided to cut my photo into 3 pieces instead of using 3 photos and I am quietly happy with how this turned out..Lots of stamping in the back ground for this one..A little bit country..
The photo was one I took in the gardens in September.. the flowers are fussy cut from an old calendar.. The papers are Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden..a bit of lace and a couple of ribbon bows!!
Well I hope this finds you well .. I do know how busy we all are, so I do appreciate the time you have taken to come by and thanks so much for any comments too!!

and my cards, i did 2 using the sketch..
and I created 2 cards using the sketch and my cards ..

My first attempt at these colors looked like a disaster, blobs of orange and navy paint that mixed and turned a yukky color, but rather then throw it out I put strips of orange and navy papers over it and then put a piece of decorative kraft paper which I got in a stack from spotlight over the top of that and cut a circle out and put my photo in and layered up the embellishments.. phew.. what a save!! I don't have much kraft cardstock so I don't like to throw it out, even if it looks like a disaster!!hehe!

I created this layout last night and had no idea how it would turn out.. no plan or sketch, just fussy cut the elements from the papers I was using and created this....

lots of color and a fabulous sketch too.. I used the sketch for inspiration and went with lots of color!!

and my layout using photos I took after the floods in January 2011... My DD is standing near some trees that had fallen in the floods in our creek.. I am especially sad about the huge tree in the second photo it is as round as my DD was tall.. but it was no match for the flood waters.. We were blessed to have the army come for a week or so and push the trees up out of the creek bed and they actually cut some timber and took it away with them.. we assumed they were going to cut it up to use to fix bridges or something..
Well what I saw and ran with was Paris and food so I scrapped a photo of my DD in Paris and she is eating.. guess what?? hehe can you see from the photo?? I added a couple of whimsical creatures to it!!
I found a photo of my youngest holding some yellow flowers so I took out the colors in the photo except for the flowers and scrapped that...
you can use darker or lighter shades and a little black or white is ok too!! We only have 3 entries last time I looked !!
There are fabulous layouts that may inspire you from the design team... and my layout...(inspired by the sketch)
