November One Word Challenge Soul Scrappers

Hello there, well December has snuk in on me!! Cant snooze or the days will just keep going by!

We have been busy around the house doing some renovating, and so I have been off doing that! But I managed to get a layout done for last months Challenge over at Soul Scrapper on Facebook for the One Word Challenge and it was to use the letter A, P or E as the title for your layout.. I choose the letter E for Explore and I have used a photo of my Grandies off exploring at a Cactus Farm in April this year..

a couple of closer views.

I have used the beautiful 49andMarket papers Tranquility.

Explore

So I hope to get in and do some creating this month to share, and somehow think about Christmas which is going to come very quickly methinks!! Do you create cards for Christmas? I have for the last several years.. so that is on my to do list!! and also think about the menu for Christmas day, which is usually the same as the year before, with maybe some new dishes to try... With the weather so hot here at the moment, it will be salads and cold meats I am thinking..

So thanks for coming by, and do take care.. until next time..

Soul Scrappers November Card Challenges

Hello there on this fine November day! I hope things are well with you! This month is galloping along and it is getting very summery in my part of the world!

I have been creating some cards for the November Card Challenges over at Soul Scrappers Challenges on Facebook  and it was great to sit and get out some Christmas stash and make some cards.. So without further ado I will just share my cards and what challenge they were for...

Shazza's challenge was to add a poinsettia to your card..

I used some dies and made my poinsettia.. very old papers were used for this card..

Libby asked to use a Christmas Bird on your card..

I used a bird that was on the papers and cut it out and matt it on some red paper and then popped that on a doiley that had been cut and was on my desk!!

Jane wanted us to use punches and traditional colors..

I have used a corner punch, the holly leaf punch and a Martha Stewart punch.. I think Red Green and Gold are traditional colors.

Mitzi wanted us to create a whimsical card..

I thought these Ginger Bread Men were quite whimsical!! and the cute bow was too!!

Shazza wanted us to add a wreath on our card..

I simply used a die to cut out a wreath..

And lastly Libby wanted us to add the word "Joy" to our card..

I made the poinsettia from dies and the words are from the papers I used..

I had fun creating these cards, I guess they will come in handy very soon as the festive season approaches..  I do like to make my cards for Christmas, sometimes they are all different and sometimes I just make the same in an assembly line type of production.. mind you I don't send as many as I used to, seems like a tradition that only the older ones still do..

Thank you for coming by today, I hope you have a blessed day.. until next time.. take care..

Hello there, and Hello November! Definitely the down hill slide to the end of the year.. I do hope things are going well for you whatever you are up to. We had some very needed rain here today, and I am so thankful for it.

Well the new issue of the Scrapbookers Journal  is out and I have two layouts in  this issue.. Louise does an amazing job putting it all together and I am chuffed to see my 2 layouts in there with all the creatives!

My layouts are in the Christmas layouts section.

The first one I used a photo of my Daughters dog Alfie in his Christmas hat, haha he makes me laugh!!

Just a little closer view..

The poinsettia is an embroidered badge that I have had in my stash for ages and the star is fussy cut from the papers.. Lots of older products on this page..

Tis the season.

Oh he is hilarious!! The papers are mostly Kaisercraft and a Charms Star was perfect for this page!

The second layout is also for the Christmas section.

a closer view..

These papers are also Kaisercraft and are a non traditional color scheme..

Together

A little touch of stamping on the background and layering al the elements..  and it is almost time for this years Santa photo.. my goodness!!  The shops are filling the shelves with Christmas stuff already.. I  pray for peace for this world, that would be the best Christmas gift for us all

Soul Scrappers Challenges

Hello there, how are you all, I do hope you are doing well... The days are quickly turning into weeks and here we are in the middle of October ALREADY!! I have been doing some scrapbooking and I would like to share what I have been up to! I love the challenges over at SOUL SCRAPPERS ON FACEBOOK and this month there is a wonderful lot of challenges to inspire..I have created for 4 of them.. Wow surprised myself!!

The first challenge is for the sketch which looks like..

I rotated the sketch once anti clockwise to suit the photos I have used..

A little closer view.

I have used lots of die cuts and a mix of Kaisercraft papers..

The best day.

The photos threw me for a while (I dont usually use color photos ) but when I decided that the best colors to use would be to just use mainly greens the page came together.. This is my Grandies visiting a sunflower farm at the beginning of the year..

The next layout I would like to share is for the Mystery Challenge which is to use Hearts on your layout, any kind.. Now Charms Creations is a sponsor for this months challenges on Soul Scrappers so I wanted to use a Charms embellishment on my layout..

a little closer view..

I have popped a Charms Heart in my cluster..

Cherish

I have used lots of hearts on this page.. stickers, die cuts and of course a Charms Heart..

The next challenge I would like to share is for the One Word challenge which is to use either a V, O or H word as your title for the layout.. Now I was tired when I created this page and let me just say I got mixed up with the Tic Tac Toe... haha..I had to laugh when I realized what I had done, but I saved the day by just making this page for the One Word and doing another page for the Tic Tac Toe.. I have used the word Happiness for my title..

a little closer view.

Happiness

This fun photo was taken while trying to get a good photo of us with our Grandies, but as is the case it sometimes does not work... but it is fun to spend time with them... Now when I show the next challenge of the Tic Tac Toe you will see I used the line of Twine, 6 by 6 paper pads and Kraft cardstock.. then I realized this layout was meant for the one word... haha.. so I just created another layout for the Tic Tac Toe! which looks like..

And I used the row Flowers, 6 by 6 paper pad, hexagons..The paper pad I used is one I have had for ages and it is a My Minds Eye paper pad..

a little closer view..

Everyday moments

Thanks Soul Scrappers for great challenges that inspired me to create.. Thanks for your visit and until next time... do take care...

For the Tic Tac Toe..

I chose the right hand row down, border punches, camera and banner..

and one little closeup of the camera which I cut out of papers.

Book Week

I have used three different border punches, the camera is there and the banner is the title.. I am so glad I dont have to find dress ups for book week these days, as the standard is so high!! But I have to admit my Grandie makes a cute little Cowgirl!!

The other layout I would like to share is for the One Word and the letters to choose from are D, N and C and I went with C for Cherish..

A closer view

I have used a new Charms Creations heart layered with fussy cut elements..

Cherish

Soul Scrappers August Challenges

Hello there on this coolish day, winter is still around! It has been a busy week but in amongst the busy days I have made time to sit and create, the house work waits!!

I have 3 layouts to share from this months Soul Scrappers Challenges on Facebook  The first one is for the sketch, another fabulous one this month.. which looks like..

and a closer view.

A closer view of the Charms Creations Heart and I grabbed a few little chippies from my chipboard bottle too!

Little love

My darling little Grandson when he was much smaller.. my they grow fast!

The second layout is for the Tic Toc Toe which is..

I have used the bottom row - butterflies, tags and fussy cutting ( no surprise there!!)

a closer view

I used the tags like this, popped a hole in the top and tied them together with some string, and while I had my big bottle of chipboard out I used a key, some hearts and some butterflies just lightly painted with white gesso..

Together

I fussy cut the floral elements from the pretty papers from AB studio and layered them with some old cardboard for dimension.

and the third layout is for the One Word challenge and it was to use J,K or W for the one word title for your layout.. and I choose the letter J for the word JOY>

a closer view

I have had these vintage frames for ages, so it was good to use them on this page..

Joy

I have used a photo of my niece and her son, I asked her ages ago if I could scrap some of her photos and she said yes, so this delightful photo grabbed my attention and I just had to scrap it..

Well the days seem to be flying by, I know I say that a lot, but it simply feels like each week goes by  ever so swiftly! I am hoping to do more creating, lets face it, house work rots our brain!! Thanks for dropping by, do take care, and until next time..
