Kraft+ June Mood Board Challenge

Good day to you all! The first day of Winter begins for me today, although I must say we have had our fire going for a week or more already.. I like going out and chopping the wood for the wood burner, kinda helps me get rid of tensions!!! So here we are in June, the number 6 month ( have to get used to writing 6 now for the month!!) and the new scrapping challenges are going up for your inspiration, probably a good time to stay indoors and create!!!

The June Challenge for Kraft+  is a fabulous mood board..

It took me a while to decide what I would do with this board, but I kept coming back to the Dining table and chairs. They reminded me of my Mums old dining table and chairs and the many times i had sat around with family.. So I found a precious photo of an afternoon tea with my family, nieces and nephews gathered around the table with my Dad having a previous time together.. My Dad passed away last year and he loved it when the family would get together. The photo is not the best quality (taken in the late 1990's) but the memory is so very much cherished now... I took inspiration from the colors too for my layout..

a closer view..

Fussy cutting die cuts and a Charms Creations heart and a bow on top!

Memories

Just shows you should always take a photo..You never know when it will become a cherished memory.

You can pop over to the Kraft+ Blog here   and the Kraft+ Facebook Community Page here  to see what everyone has been creating and I hope you get time to join in too..

Thanks for dropping by, take care.. until next time..

This is a lovely sketch I think, and I just might use it again sometime..

Just one little closer view..

And if you guessed this was a Christmas layout you would be correct!!

To be inspired by Lisa Oxley on a base of Kraft... well if you don't know Lisa, she is on FACEBOOK HERE  and she is always putting up her creating with video so you can watch this amazing creative lady and the techniques she uses.. just so inspiring..

So for my layout I did watch Lisa create and I had a go at trying to create a layout in her style.. a poor Imitation haha!! but anyway I shall share with you what i did for this challenge..

a couple of closer views..

This is my base, a mix of texture paste through stencils, stamping and acrylic paint and black gesso.. a lot of fun and mess!!

Lisa often has something floral and also has butterflies on her pages, so I also used that on my layout..

Dream big.

and the end result.. it was a lot of fun.. I also added some die cut leaves in black as extra texture.. Definitely something I would like to try again or at least use some of  these techniques again..

You can see all the Design Team inspiration over on the Kraft+ Blog here  and pop over to the Kraft+ Facebook Community Page here and join in with all the creative fun!

The Scrapbookers Journal - Online Magazine

Hi there on this warm Thursday afternoon.. I hope you are doing well in your part of the world.. March is galloping along and I have a couple of layouts to share with you.. Have you heard about a new Online Scrapbooking Magazine called The Scrapbookers Journal ? There have been two editions already and I have a layout in each edition.. you can find it on Facebook HERE!!!

Link to Edition One of the Scrapbookers Journal

Link to Edition Two of the Scrapbookers Journal

The layout from Edition One was for the Grab 5 Section.. It was to use colored cardstock, 2 word Title, 3 photos, 4 stickers and 5 or more enamel dots..

One closer view.

I did lots of fussy cutting and mixed the stickers in among the leaves..

Happiness is..

The second layout I would like to share is from the second Edition and it also is for the Grab 5 section..

And for that we had to use one Patterned paper background, 2 photos, 3 flowers, hand written journalling and a mixed media product..  Well I used lots and lots of flowers and my mixed media product was Texture paste through a stencil..

a closer view

Just some of the flowers and stencilling on my layout..

Remember this moment

I used a lot of flowers I have had for ages on this page! Make sure you check out the The Scrapbookers Journal on Facebook and I hope you find lots of inspiration from Scrapbookers sharing their creativity in this fabulous online magazine.. Soul Scrappers Challenges - One Little Word and Mystery Bag

Hello there on this Wednesday evening.. I hope your day has been a good one.. It has been quite humid here so a day of creating was in order for me.. I finished one page and completed another, so I am happy with that..(Housework nil though!!!)

Both layouts are for the challenges for Soul Scrappers on Facebook  which have  great challenges each month to inspire creativity..

The first layout is for the One Word challenge which is to use either C H or E words for the title of your page.. I went with the letter C for Cutie!! and I used a photo of my Grand daughter when she was much smaller...

a couple of closer views..

I have used a mix of flowers and die cuts in the clusters, stuff I have had for ages..

I slapped a bit of paint on the back ground and did some stencilling for some texture..

Cutie

Ah where has the time gone?? She is now 5!!

The next layout I would like to share is for the Mystery Bag challenge which is to use Stencils.. well that is easy enough, the rest of the page was harder... but I got there in the end...

a couple of closer views..

I did stencilling around my layout and just used texture paste which gave the back ground paper some more detail.

Lots of layers which I enjoy doing..

Happily Ever After

I have used a mix of Kaisercraft papers, the silver frames I have had for many years.. This layout was therapy for me, I wont go into it but for anyone who knows the story behind the photo you might understand what I mean..It was hard going, but I hope I have created something beautiful..

Well thanks for dropping on by, the visitors are few lately, but that is ok.. I still like to keep my blog going as it is a good record of my creating..  Do take care, and I hope you call by again... until next time...

the Sketch..
