3 March Challenges - Soul Scrappers, Whats in the Bickie Tin and Black Magic Sketches

Howdi! Well here I am once again racing against the days to get my layouts up and entered into the 3 challenges I have created for this month.. The days fly by and then the weeks and then before I know it, another month is just around the corner..soooo I would love to share the layouts I have created with you.

The first one is for Soul Scrappers on Facebook and it is for the

The letters we had to choose from for our title word are B,I or C.. after much thinking I went with the Word Cherish as I have used an older photo of my Grandie and I when she was very little..

a closer view

I have found on Facebook groups that offer printables and I have been saving them to my computer and all the flowers on this page are printables, that I have fussy cut out, so thank you to the creators of them, I am sorry I dont remember the names, and I do not claim to have created them myself, but I am thankful to those clever  and generous people who create the images and share them for others to use..

Cherish

These are very old papers which most of my papers are, I have a little bit of stencilling on the back ground to add a bit of interest.. layers and some die cut leaves and punched edges.. Love this sweet photo of my grandie sleeping on me, very precious..

The second layout is for the challenge over at Whats in the Bickie Tin on Facebook  and it is..

Well I loved this challenge!! Flowers and foliage!!  I began this layout a bit differently, by doing some weaving using strips of paper. Then I did a bit of stencilling and used some spray. Then I put my photo down and layered around it and added my flowers and foliage.. again using fussy cut printables..

a closer view.

Again using old papers and new printables!

Hello Beautiful

I have used a mix of blue colors inspired by the photo of my Grandie.. This was fun to create, something different and I got to use older papers up.. I just might try the weaving again on a layout sometime!!

And the third layout is for the challenge over at Black Magic Sketches on Facebook and it is...

To use the sketch and at least two of the colors on black cardstock base... I have used the butter yellow and the smokey blue colors..  I have rotated the sketch once anti clock wise..

a closer view..

I just love a bit of stencilling on the black background! and the flowers were fussy cut from Kaisercraft papers, that are pretty old also..

Fun times.

Thats my grandies hanging off the gate watching the horse in the paddock.. I loved the sketch this month so thank you Black Magic Sketches!

Well thanks for dropping by and taking a look at what I have been creating this month.. I hope you can pop over to the challenges and while you may not get to join in this month, there are challenges waiting to go up for next month.. If you are like me and just having a quiet Easter then I reckon some creating might be a pleasant way to spend the weekend.. Whatever you are up to, I hope you take the time to remember just what the days of Easter are about.. and if you dont have any belief, then I can only pray that in time you will..

Do take care in these uncertain and difficult times.. I hope you keep safe and well... until next time..

Happy New Year! 3 challenges for Dec/Jan 2026

Hello and Happy New Year to you.. yes I am late in wishing you all blessings for the New Year, it looks like this year is gunna fly by too! I have decided that I must be slowing down as I get older, what other reason could there be for the days to go by so fast!! anyhoo I hope your Christmas was a good one and the New Year is off to a good start.. I do take a moment however to reflect on those who are not having a good start, the floods, the fires are very concerning and I offer my prayers for all affected...

Soo I have 3 challenges to share that fortunately are over the 2 months of December and January.. The first layout is for WHATS IN THE BICKIE TIN  and it is a Christmas inspired mood board that looks like

Lots of inspiration from this mood board. I used gold stars on the ribbon, the photos are in front of our Christmas tree and I used green and red colors..

Celebrate the season

These photos are from quite a few years ago now..

The second layout is for the challenge over at BLACK MAGIC SKETCHES on Facebook  and it looks like..

That also is very festive, and we are to use the sketch and at least 2 of the colors.. on black cardstock..

Christmas moments

Such a fun photo and yes from 2024...

And the last layout is for the challenge over at SOUL SCRAPPERS on Facebook and this layout is for the challenge called Screen to Scrap and we are to be inspired by this picture..

Tis the season

Well 3 Christmas themed layouts.. and yes I know that while Santa seems to be the one in the photos, Christmas is really about the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ..

November Challenges, and a Publication in Scrapbookers Journal

Hello there, I hope this finds you well and enjoying the last couple of days of November before we turn the calendar over to the last month of the year and enter into the festive season.. I for one, do not feel like Christmas, but it is coming ready or not.. This year has flown by, with a few ups and downs along the way, as I am sure we all have had.. But Christmas can be a kind of reset, before the new year, and I pray this year you will have a blessed Christmas season.. and can ponder on the real reason for the season..

Now on to sharing some layouts I have created this month.. The first one is for the challenge over at Black Magic Sketches on Facebook which looks like..

A sketch and a color scheme, to use at least 2 of the colors and be inspired by the sketch.. I have used mainly the brown and the bluey green and stuck pretty closely to the sketch.

a closer view.

I have used a Charms Creations heart and tab on my page.. You can find Charms Creations on Facebook HERE!!!  Hand made embellishments a little local business.. (just a free plug!!!)

What a lovely day

The next layout is for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers on Facebook and I chose to create for the Tic tac Toe which looks like..

I went down the middle row, chipboard, one photo and spray ink. I used the ink with a stencil and then I flicked it over my page, and the chipboard is from Kaisercraft and Scrapmatts.

a closer view

Fussy cut hibiscus and leaves and the chipboard layered behind..

Sunkissed

The next challenge I have created a layout for is for Whats in the Bickie Tin  and this month it is a Tic Tac Toe and looks like..

I went with the first row down, string, chipboard and paint.. I began my layout by putting dabs of green and white  Kaisercraft paint on my page and using a spatula wiped over the back ground adding more white until I was happy with the color, then I had to let that dry before adding some stamping and rub ons to the back ground. I also painted the chipboard with water colors, I am not sure of the brand of chipboard, it has been in my stash for years!!!

a closer view of the chipboard and back ground.

Little moments that matter

I have used the lovely 49and Market papers Botanical Buzz.

and lastly I had a layout in the Scrapbookers Journal online mag  just in the Gallery section.. Always a thrill to see a layout join many others in this online magazine.. Issue 18 page 42..

Gorgeous

I have had these papers for years and years, an old favourite. Lots of fussy cutting and layering.. You can check out the Scrapbookers Journal on Facebook HERE!!!!  And see what is coming up in the next mag and perhaps you could create something to share too!

Well thanks for coming by, and I hope things are going well with you and yours.. Do take care, and until next time...
