July Challenges!

Well well well!! Hasn't this month just flown by? And here I am just hours away from the end of the month rushing to put up my post for the Challenges I have created this month.. Perhaps others are feeling as I do that July just seemed to be shorter than usual, haha.. yes I know that it still has the same amount of hours as last year, but where did it go??? I shall stop dilly dallying and get my pages posted!!!

I have managed to create 4 layouts this month, and yes one of them I finished just a few hours ago, so hopefully the glue is dry!!

The first layout is for the challenge over at Black Magic Sketches on Facebook and it looks like..

To use black cardstock as base and at least 2 of the colors and be inspired by the sketch.. I rotated the sketch once clockwise to suit my photo..

a closer view.

I have used printables that I have fussy cut out.. I am very thankful to the clever and generous people who design the printables and freely give them for us to use on our creations.

Timeless memories

I have used a photo of my Grandie and my Mum taken on mothers day this year.. very special photo.

The next layout is for the challenge over at Soul Scrappers on Facebook and it is for the One Word challenge and we are to use either S, A or H words as our title for our layout.. I have gone with S for Sisters for my layout..

A closer view.

I don't remember the name of the papers I have used but they are quite old. and again, the printables are fussy cut..

Sisters

Quite a busy page, I did smear some gesso over the page to try and calm it down a bit!!

The next layout is for the challenge over at Whats in the Bickie Tin on facebook and it is a stash buster one...

And I have used all of those things on my page..and more I guess!!

a closer view.

A view of one of the clusters and a tag, again, I have used printables fussy cut..

Lovely day

You can see the 4 different papers, the 3 clusters the 2 tags and 1 title..

and the last challenge I have created is for the Hut Creative on Facebook and this month we have been asked to create a Heritage layout. Well I found a beautiful old photo of my Grandmother and my Mother taken around 1940 and used that as my inspiration for my Heritage layout..

a closer view.

When I think of Heritage, I think of aged looking papers, doileys and stamping on the back ground to add to the grungey look..

Portraits of the past

Just such a precious old photo, what a great car too.. so glad to scrap this photo.

Well I have just one more layout to share and it was created for the The Scrapbookers Journal an online magazine full of inspiration and fantastic creations. My layout was featured in the Animal Section on page 11 and it is of my Dad and his beloved pigs. Dad grew pigs and sold them, he cared for them and raised them on separated milk and grain that the pigs loved and they grew fat on it.. When Dad took his pigs to the pig sale they were snatched up quickly.. I remember my childhood like it was yesterday and certainly feel very blessed for the simple upbringing that I had..

A closer view

And yes printables again!!

Farm life

Such precious photos...My Dad was a hardworking farmer and life was often quite hard.. I miss the farm, and I miss my Dad... so photos are very special now..

Well if you have managed to get to the end of this long post, then well done! I hope you look out for next months challenges which come out tomorrow!!!I hope I am a bit more organised next month!! But probably not!!! hehe!

Thanks for coming on by, do take care, and until next time..

P.S. The last couple of months I have been sharing talented creators of Printables and this month I am sharing The Gentle Palette on Facebook who shares a lot of freebies..

June Challenges!

Well Hello there! Can you believe that June is coming quickly to a close, and July is just a couple of sleeps away!!?? I am not even gunna say it, but how did June go by so fast? Is anyone else feelin it?? Maybe I am just getting older, and slowing down?? Perhaps!! anyhooo... I shall stop waffling and get onto putting up my layouts for the challenges I have created this month! I have surprised myself and completed 5 layouts!! Go me!! hehe!! sooo here we go!!!

The first layout is for a challenge I have not entered before and it is for The Hut Creative on Facebook and this month it is a Scraplift challenge.. Well being one who loves having some of the thinking done for me as to how to do a layout, I thought Yep I will give this one a go!! There were 3 layouts to choose from, and this is the layout I chose to scraplift by Heather Bensley..

I loved the background of this layout, lots of stamping some stars and a male themed page, always need some inspiration to get one of them completed!! So here is my take..

a close view..

I am not sure how many stamps I used on the back ground, I think at least 5! Such fun.. A bit of plasterers tape for texture and a few strips of washi!!

Handsome boy

I added a banner along the bottom, just for my touch to the page! Such a fun way to create a page! This is my cheeky grandson!! Thankyou The Hut Creative for a great challenge.. I look forward to seeing what next months will be!!

The next layout I would like to share is for the challenge over at Black Magic Sketches on Facebook  and it is...

To be inspired by the sketch, on a base of black cardstock and to use at least 2 of the colors.. I followed the sketch, but instead of using the banners side by side, I layered them to suit my page better..

a closer view.

my layout..

Welcome little man..

This is my newest grandson, and the butterfly is for privacy but take it from me, he is very very cute!! and he is brand new in this photo!! I have used a mix of papers for this layout, his first layout!! I am looking forward to creating pages for his album too!!

The next layout is for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers on Facebook and it is for the One Word challenge..

And we are to use J, K or Y as the title for our page.. I have gone with K for Kiss and found this sweet photo on my Grandie and her Dad!!

 a closer view.

Fussy cut roses layered up with foam tape.  I was in the mood for fussy cutting ... who am I kidding? I am always in the mood for fussy cutting!! hehe!

Kiss

Such a sweet photo!!

The next layout is also for Soul Scrappers on Facebook and this one is for the Mystery Challenge and it is a Scraplift! The page we were to scrap lift is this one...

a very cool page..

I decided to rotate it once clock wise and use it like this..

This also was a lot of fun to create.. I started with some water colors painted in 3 columns and then added the strips and then the photo and some fussy cut flowers.. The flowers and tickets are from Printables on facebook, I really appreciate the very generous and talented creatives who share the printables freely for others to use..

a closer view of  my layout.

just a closer view of one of the clusters..

Lovely day

The flowers, tickets and butterflies are printables.

Anddd the last layout is for the challenge over at What"s in the Bickie Tin on Facebook and it is a Tic Tac Toe which looks like..

I chose the first row down, stencil, flowers and leaves..

a closer view

I have used 49&Market papers and embellishments for this layout.. the flowers are layered up with foam dots for dimension.

This photo

There is stencilling on the back ground, leaves and flowers.. Another great challenge, I enjoyed creating this layout too!

Well if you have made it to the end of this post, well done, and well done to me for getting 5 pages done!! Probably the 2 scraplifts helped!!!!

I do hope things are well with you, and as always, thank you for coming by, and do take care...

P.S. Each week I will share another Printables Page with you that I find very useful..  This week it is   Lu Lu Creations on Facebook , another talented and generous creative who I have used for printables for card making and scrapbooking.. And I am being wooed by Junk Journaling also.. sigh.. do I really need another hobby!!! hehe!! Just been watching on Youtube the many tutorials on making a junk journal.. another way to use some of my stash I guess!!

until next time....

May challenges - What's in the Bickie Tin, Black Magic Sketches & Soul Scrappers Sketch

Hello to you on my wet thursday. I hope you are doing well.. Yes the rain has been good I must say, watering my garden and putting much needed water in our tanks.. and I guess it has made sitting inside and creating much more appealing! I have created 3 layouts this month for 3 challenges and I would like to share them on my blog today..

The first layout is for the challenge over at Whats in the Bickie Tin on Facebook and it is to be inspired by something on the moodboard which looks like this...

Well the top picture is what I took for inspiration for my layout.. A real autumn feel to my page.. the leaves especially inspired the mood on my page..I have used a photo of my youngest from many years ago now!

Autumn

The leaves have been fussy cut from papers and I found papers in my stash that had a very autumn feel!!

The second layout is for the challenge over at Black Magic Sketches on Facebook and the sketch looks like...

And we are to use at least two of the colors on a black cardstock base.. I have kept reasonably close to the sketch..

a closer view.

The clusters have fussy cut printables that I have printed off facebook.. (I do not claim them to be my creating.)

Love that smile

And the last layout is for the challenge over at Soul Scrappers sketch on Facebook and it looks like...

I have stuck pretty closely to the sketch..

a closer view.

Again I have used printables from facebook.. A net stencil on the back ground for some texture.

Beach time

Well thats all from me today. I hope to do some more creating before the month ticks over, but it depends on the whether.. whether I do or whether I dont!!! hehe! As always do take care.. thanks for coming by... until next time...

p.s. I use this talented lady's printables.. SHAYLEE MOREHOUSE on Facebook here..

April Challenges, Black Magic Sketches, Whats in the Bickie Tin and Soul Scrappers

Well Hello, can you believe we are nearing the end of April already?? It does not seem that long ago since I put up the layouts for March, and here I am making a post for the April layouts.. hummm. no words.. hehe..

anyhoo.. the first layout I would like to share is for the challenge over at Black Magic Sketches on Facebook and it looks like...

To be inspired by this sketch, use at least 2 of the colors on black cardstock base.. I have followed the sketch pretty closely, but have used a journaling card instead of a second photo..

a closer view..

One of the clusters on my page.. fussy cut and paper flowers instead of stars.

Treasure every day

I love a bit of stencilling on the black cardstock!! Instead of the ripped edges I have cut mine straight and added a bit of lace and punched edging..

The next layout I would like to share is for the challenge over at What's in the Bickie Tin on facebook and this month it is to use this quote on your layout.

Well I have used a fun photo of my hubby and I and our two grandies!! Thats a favourite place to be, with them!!

a closer view

Layered up flowers and embellies.

Together is our favourite place to be.

Love this photo!!

And the next two layouts are for challenges over at Soul Scrappers.. The next layout is for the One Word Challenge at Soul Scrappers and it is to use either a W , R or N word as the title of your layout. I chose the word Remember and used a photo of my Daughter and husband and family on Anzac Day last year.. a day to remember the sacrifice given by so many. Lest we forget..

a closer view.

Remember

I have kept this page fairly simple in design and the embellishments to a minimum. and I am happy how this turned out.. the fussy cut poppies are printables..

and the last layout I would like to share is for the Sketch challenge at Soul Scrappers which looks like

I have rotated the sketch once clockwise to suit my photos..

a closer view.

Lots of layers.. I have used a range from 49&Market for this layout..

Captured moments.

I enjoyed creating this page, a bit of paint spolged on the background, some rub-ons and layered up embellishments.. This is my daughter with her dog, that grew quickly from a puppy!!

Well thanks for coming on by, I hope your month has been pleasant.. Our days are cooling down now Autumn is truly making her presence felt!! Time to get the trackie daks out!!! so... until next time... do take care...
