Scrapmatts creating for June.

  Hello there..

 Today it is my turn to share with you some creating using the fabulous Scrapmatts products.

I have a layout that I created using a family photo.. It is difficult to get everyone together these days so this was a special moment worth scrapping..

As I usually do I started with laying down some scraps and tags to add some texture to my page.

Sometimes I use bits that are sitting on my desk.. and whatever will make some texture.

 I then covered the scraps with a light layer of gesso and then used a stencil for added texture. A spray of mist and then I began to create my layout..

I used a wonderful tree chipboard that I painted with a green and dotted it with brown to add a bit of age to the trunk and branches.. How cool does the branches look against the texture!!?

I used lots of layers to add some dimension to lift my photo and I added a film strip that I cut in half under these layers. The assorted Words were perfect for my title.

Family Time.

Somehow that tree makes me think of "family Trees" I love the way it looks on my layout. .a lovely feature on my page..

Life is Sweet - Kraft+ June.

 Hello there! JUNE!! What can I say?? 

Except the new scrappy challenges are going up and there are lots to inspire you and the challenge I would like to share with you today is the new one for KRAFT+ and it is a sweet one... yes really!!!

Life is sweet!! What does that mean for you.. perhaps the fabulous mood board has something that inspires you.. and remember on a base of Kraft of course!!

Well the thing I thought of that is sweet in my life is my Grand daughter.. she is the sweetest thing !! So I grabbed a sweet photo of her and found some papers with some sweet elements and away I scrapped!!

Scrap The Girls May 2021

 Hello there, 

What a surprise to see me back again! I have been a little unwell so have been laying low at home for over a week so that has meant I have had some time to do some creating! There are lots of challenges out there to inspire me but I chose the May challenge for SCRAP THE GIRLS  which is this fabulous mood board..

I was really inspired by the blue rose, what an amazing color and I remembered I had a photo taken last year at the Carnival of Flowers gardens with some amazing blue flowers.. I had a packet of Uniquely Creative papers that had lots of blue so I used them.. did lots of fussy cutting and layering..

Scrapmatts Creating for May.

 Hello there! I hope this finds you well..  

It is my turn over on the SCRAPMATTS BLOG for this month so I would like to share what I have created.. Life at the moment is quite busy with family things happening so I need to find a way to create that does not take a lot of time.. Getting in my scrap room and staying there to create just has not been happening as much as I would like it to... So I photographed my steps to how I created my layout to hopefully give you some hints on creating when time is hard to find..

Firstly, I create a simple design of my papers and where my photo will go.. 

Then I lightly pencil in under my papers and photo to give me an idea of where to stencil.. No use stencilling where it will be covered.

I have used black gesso for my stencilling and I also used the black gesso to color all  my chipboard pieces.. I love the drama the black color creates on a page.

After painting  all the chipboard I was going to use, I cut the Sticks chipboard into  pieces and made sure they would fit around my layout and not get hidden too much, after all the chipboard was adding great texture and interest. I then carefully stuck my papers and photo down and glued the chipboard down too..  

I fussy cut some flowers from the papers and lifted them up with some old cardboard and placed some cogs around my layout too to add a masculine element,

I like the contrast of the softness of the flowers against the boldness of the black elements!

I love the Boho arrow and words and this became the title for my layout.. Chevrons are also a fabulous embellishment too for any type of layout.

And the finished layout..

The finishing touch was to trim a little off two sides of the layout and then put the whole page on a piece of black cardstock and rip the edges randomly to add a bit more texture. I love how the black seems to add more details to the look of the layout, but really this was quite a simple layout to create. I hope I have inspired you with my layout and sharing how I created it..

KRAFT+ May Challenge...

 Hello there,

Wow here we are in May.. This year is surely going by tooo fast.. I feel I am barely keeping up some days..  but..  the new month brings the new inspiration to help us create and this months challenge over at 

KRAFT PLUS  is another fantastic one that I hope you have some creative fun with.. and it is..

 

Focus on Faces... (on a base of Kraft of course!!)

Scrapmatts creating for April!!

 Good Moring! I hope your day is going well..  It is a beautiful day here, the season of Autumn is a lovely season I think..  not so sure about Winter though.. I am a little behind in my posting, life has had some ups and downs lately... but we keep going!!

I created a summery layout for my SCRAPMATTS CREATING FOR APRIL  and you can see the closer details and the stencilling on the back ground before I embellished my layout over on the blog.

but just for a quick view for you, here is the end result.. my layout..

The title I have had for many years, I have used a mix of dies, Kaisercraft papers and Scrapmatts stencil and chipboard..

Kraft+ - April Challenge

 Hello there,.

Another new month, and therefore new challenges are popping up to inspire us in our creating..

The challenge for KRAFT+ this month is another fabulous one.. and it is..

To be inspired by Symmetry.. on a base for Kraft of course!!

To me symmetry is like mirror image, so I flipped my photo to have it as a mirror image as well as embellishing my layout to have a balance.

Scrap the Girls March Challenge

 Hello there,

I hope it isnt too wet where you are... We have had some beautiful rain, not as much as those down south of us, but I am thankful to see the tanks full and the grass so green!!

I have created a layout for this months challenge for SCRAP THE GIRLS who have changed the way they are doing things now, they are over on FACEBOOK  so I shall pop my layout up over there.. 

I got these beautiful papers from Mintay at a recent scrap show and I just had to use them... and I found a photo of me in my teens, I was not too wild, but on a horse I was wild and free out in the sunshine on my dads farm..

This is the mood board.. Child of the Wild.

These papers fit the colors of the board too!

I did lots of fussy cutting of the beautiful papers and a hint of stencilling for some texture..

Wild at Heart

This is one of my all time favorite photos of myself, on our horse Georgina.. I would have been perhaps 15 wearing singlet and shorts, and probably no shoes!!The best days!! ohhh take me back!!!

Scrapmatts creating for March.

 Hello there!

It is the middle of the month so that means it is my turn over on the Scrapmatts Blog to share what I have created for my Design Team  work this month..

I went with a bit of a circular theme this month, using circle stencilling, circle chipboard and a circle frame!! You can check out all the details on the SCRAPMATTS BLOG HERE!!!!

A Perfect Day.

I got these papers from AB Studio at a Craft show that was held last month.. so nice to be able to look and shop new scrapping stuff..!! And I have used  a lovely photo of my Grandie and her Daddy!!

and my card, using the same papers and chipboard and design..

The straws were from the supermarket I think and they can be painted or covered with paper or washi but I have left them plain..  It is hard to believe we are half way through March already..

Challenge YOUrself - #86 Celebrate Love.

 Hello again! yes a bit rare for me to post again so soon!!! Good weather for scrapping, too hot for the garden although my plants look like they could do with a good soaking!!! So I have created a layout for the challenge over at CHALLENGE YOURSELF which is to celebrate LOVE!!!

I had a photo of hubby and myself so it was a good excuse to create a layout with it!!

Kraft+ - March Challenge

 Hello March! For me it means summer has ended.. yeah right!!! and Autumn is beginning!! 

And it means new Scrappy challenges to inspire us!

The challenge for KRAFT+ is one I had fun with and I am sure you will too!!

To have torn paper, and on a base of Kraft of course! The Design Team have amazing inspiration for you to check out over on the KRAFT+ BLOG HERE!!!!

I have one of those steel rulers with the jagged edges that give you a really good ripped edge when you use it to rip paper so I went a bit crazy and created lots of strips of paper and layered them and created my layout...
