Stuck? July sketch and the Scrapbook Store July sketch

Hello there! I hope your monday is going well!

This month has flying  by so I better get this layout put into the challenge before the month is over!

There are 2 Stuck? Sketches per month and I got the second one done thinking I had missed out on the first one, but it closes at the end of this month.. so I created a layout for it too..

I have used papers I have had for several years, some stamping with a Kaiser stamp and a lovely Prima pearl flourish with assorted flowers..

Stuck - July sketch, Pixels and Paper challenge July.

I have often seen the lovely sketches over at Stuck? sketches and thought I should have a go one day.. well I did!

Lots of fussy cutting and layering of the flowers and a gorgeous zva creative bling flourish...

And another new challenge site has started up called Pixels and Paper Challenge Blog and they use a picture for our inspiration and we are to create a layout based on the inspiration we get from the picture..

Well I got a few things from this.. This could be my youngest in this picture with her hair in plaits sitting with one of our dogs.. and I took the wood from the jetty and I found this photo and went with that..I used a photo of my youngest sitting in front of a wooden cupboard with our dogs.. Her hair is in plaits and she has a fringe just like the girl in the picture..

and a bit closer.. I have the old Basic Grey papers Bittersweet and the matching chipboard stickers from that range..

White With 1 - JULY

Hi again! It is a lovely day here but we do have a very chilly breeze!! I hope your day is going well!!

The July challenge for WW1 is to use white and navy and arrows.. While I had the navy blue papers out for the previous challenge I thought I would create something for this challenge too..

I have  navy and my arrows are masked in the back ground...

Life is like photography, we develop from the negatives..

and a bit closer..

The big die is a sizzix and the white branches are kaiser chipboard covered with modeling paste and liquid pearls, and various brands of flowers..

Life sure can be like photography, those negative things can develop us as much as the positive things!

123 July Challenge

Hi to you all! Another weekend nearly over.. I hope it has been a good one for  you and you got some scrappy time in!

I had a look in my paper drawers and found some blue papers and found a piece of denim and I saw this photo.. which makes me laugh every time I look at it... and went to work/scrap!!

and I have used the word extra ordinary in my journalling... In case you can't read it...
Our horse has the extra-ordinary habit of yawning. He makes us laugh at the funny faces he pulls when he yawns. He is hilarious...

Cardabilities #79, Feeling Sketchy #65 and Kraft it up July

Well a fabulous Friday to you all!! I hope your week has gone really well.. they go so fast!!
I have done a few challenges in my spare time!

The card sketch for FEELING SKETCHY #65 was another lovely one and I made 2 cards simply because I was using up scraps of paper and there was enough for 2 cards!!

The challenge for KRAFT IT UP JULY is to use a style that is different from your usual style.. well I TRIED to do white space on my layout... but if you know me.. that is like leaving the last chocolate biscuit on the plate... I find it so hard to do!!! as well as that I did NOT use flowers on this layout.. another hard thing for me to do on a female layout... I can leave flowers off a male layout ok, but flowers and girls are made for each other!!! hehe!!

Well that was hard to not extend the embellies out further, I had to put this layout to one side and stop adding to it!!hehe! But it was a great challenge!!

New Bird Word - CELEBRATE

Hi there! I hope your day is going well..
It is time for the new word release for BIRD IS THE WORD and the word is CELEBRATE!
There is also another wonderful sketch from Heather is use for your inspiration if you wish..
I used the sketch for the basic foundation of my layout.. The photo I have used is of my Dad and Mum on my Dad's 80th birthday last year.. Dad has had many heart scares including needing a triple bypass and valve repair 5 years ago so we are so very thankful to still have him.. so that is worth celebrating I think!! We celebrate Dad and Mum for being together 58 years also...

A very good day to you all! I hope your day is going well!
The July challenge for Once upon a sketch is to use this sketch..
and use the journalling theme "GROW".
When I first saw the challenge I thought of the song... when I grow up to be a man... and I really hoped I would think of something else as I find male layouts sooo challenging... but I thought well it is a challenge after all.. So I used a photo of my son Nathan when he was 3 years and then I added a smaller recent photo of him.

When I grow up to be a man..
The journalling just says that even though he has grown up I cherish the memories of him as my little boy...

I did enjoy creating the back ground on this layout with texture paste mists and masks..

Words or whatever June/July sketch and Anna's Craft Cupboard July sketch

A marvellous Monday to you all! The day outside is simply beautiful so much so I almost forget it is winter here..
I get a few moments here and there to scrap lately, so I shall share the latest 2 layouts I have created.. Both are for sketch challenges..

Somehow I came across the sketch for Words or whatever and thought I would create a layout based on the criteria, which was to use the sketch, a black and white photo and a wow piece of chipboard.. I found the title was a wow chippie and went from there.. the photo is my mum as a teenager, and I am guessing the date of the photo..This layout is different from my usual...

Cardabilities #78 and feeling sketchy #64

Hello there, well it seems like we are into July already whether we can keep up or not!!
My week has been busy, and I have been in a card making mood, perhaps the thought of a layout has been just a bit too much!!

 The sketch for Cardabilities was such a lovely one I sat and created  3 cards using the sketch and some papers I had on hand..

 Well what a surprise to find I had won the Kaiser sketch for June.. I only completed the layout a couple of hours before the deadline of  June 30 too... see here.. very happy with that..
