ARCHISCRAPS & Guest Spot at KRAFT+ July..

Hello there, welcome to July... yep.. the gentle slide into the rest of the year has begun... Lets hope it is a gentle slide and not some mega tumble into Christmas!! hehe!

And lots of new challenges going up to inspire and enjoy!

The July challenge for ARCHISCRAPS is to be inspired by this lovely old barn...
and to use some distressing and some wood.. you may also like to use some corrugated card too..  I created a card, I love the old barn red color and I have used some corrugated card and a wood chippie too.. and it is..

And I was asked some time ago if I would guest for KRAFT+ jULY CHALLENGE and of course I was very honored to be asked and said a big YES!! Well when I got the challenge for July, I just smiled from ear to ear.. It is the prettiest board eva!!!  and I hope you will love it as much as I did! And it is..
This is oh so pretty!! And use music paper. If you dont have any music paper then just google it, there are free music papers you can print off and use.. I however, had lots of old music books I have had from a Lifeline book sale..  So it was then a matter of which photo.. My DD had come home and she was all dressed up for the races and I had to snap a few piccys before she went so I have used one of those... I was inspired by the colors, music heart, the feather and the rolled roses, which I have hand made for my layout.. and my take..

The pink roses are hand made.. I have a little picture tutorial on how to create them.. I apologize I cannot remember where I got this from, I have had it for many years...  So I give credit to an unknown source, thank you for sharing how to create these roses..  You dont need anything but scissors to create these roses and a little practice!!!

And I just had to join in with SCRAP THE BOYS JUNE CHALLENGE which is a fabulous mood board...

Black and white..  just love this combination of colors!! I had a photo of my great nephew and have been hanging out to scrap it, and this was the perfect criteria for it..  He had a plastic mo and when he wore it I HAD to get a photo or two... what a cheeky boy!!

I had fun creating the back ground with stamps, plasterers tape and layering up dies.

I got these MO dies at the craft show in Brisbane this month.. so happy to use them on this layout!

SCRAP THE GIRLS & KRAFT+ jUNE..

Hello there, how are you? I hope you are well and having a great day!

Like many I am just incredulous at how fast the days are flying by!! So I thought I would put up 2 layouts I have created for challenges..

The JUNE CHALLENGE FOR SCRAP THE GIRLS is a fabulous crisp sunshiney mood board which looks like..

And the JUNE CHALLENGE FOR KRAFT+ had me puzzled ( true story hehe!!) for a while and then I had a few ideas and then someone used one of my ideas and then I thought well I will just sit and create and see what happens!!  The challenge...

To use jig saw puzzle pieces on your layout on Kraft.. I have used a patterned Kraft as base...  my layout..

I have a jig saw puzzle die which I have used..

All the flowers have been taken from old calendars and fussy cut..

He has a piece of your heart...

Another great challenging challenge from Kraft +!! Thanks for such a unique criteria, and I got to use my puzzle die!!

CSI CASE FILE 203

Hello there! I hope you are having a splendid day!

I am just popping up my layout for the latest CSI CASE FILE 203  as the design team for SCRAPMATTS were asked to guest this month.

The case file looks like..
I have used all the colors as well as the whimsical feel of the picture.. I have used dots, clouds, animals, trees, leaves, fence, and hearts. I have journaled about the childhood memory.

Remember this..

Oh yes thats me!! way back when I was littler!! I got a dog and called him Ted.. He was supposed to be used for the cattle but he was pretty useless and used to chase them the wrong way or stand in the gate way.. but I loved him!!  You can check out more of the inspiration from this challenge HERE!!!!!

FUNKY FLAIR JUNE CHALLENGE & FEELING SKETCHY #146

A big Hello to you! Thanks so much for coming by! I hope your day is going well.. It is a cool but lovely day here in this part of the world!

I have finally made time to join in with the challenge over at FUNKY FLAIR INSPIRATION STUDIO which is a really soft lovely moodboard and to use the word LOVE on your layout as well as some funky flairs!!  While the board seems to say Wedding layout, I went with a photo of my daughter and a horse she loved that we had here for a few years. He wasn't ours but we loved him.. and she was so sad when the owner decided to come and take him..

I have used a Kaisercraft rose stencil and water color on my background.. some dies, flowers and fussy cut images from the papers I have used which were a win from More Than Words a while ago.. you can find the challenge on FACEBOOK HERE!!!

And while I had some bits from those papers I decided to create a card for the challenge at FEELING SKETCHY #146 which looks like..
I just went with the circle element on my card using doileys..  and it looks like..

For you..

I fussy cut out some of the roses from the papers, as well as some die cut leaves and doiley.

123 CHALLENGE BLOG jUNE.. and Guest Designer for CSI Case File 202..

Hello there,
It is a cool wet Saturday here, I have a lamb roast in the oven and I thought I had better put up some design team layouts I have created for this month..

The challenge for the 123 CHALLENGE BLOG is a fabulous one.. I really had fun with this one.. and it is..
To use the color Lilac, the word DRAMA and have some doodling on your layout..

After wondering what photo to use, I decided to see if I could find a quote first, and I found a fantastic quote and then I just knew what photo I was going to use!!

 I have used a stamp for my doodling..The black flourishes are gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards.

The only drama that I enjoy is in my lashes!!

Those wonderful eyes belong to one of my daughters!! You can see the rest of the design team layouts for more inspiration HERE!!!


And the SCRAPMATTS DESIGN TEAM are Guest Designers this month for CSI Case Files and so the first one for the month has gone up.

 If you have never played along before it really is quite easy to follow. You need to use the colors, at least 3 clues/evidence, and at least one testimony. And this week there is a sketch for your inspiration too.. You can check out the many wonderful design team inspiration over at the CSI SITE HERE!!! Debbi puts so much work into each case file it really is worth a look to check it out!!

So for my layout I have followed the sketch, and used all the colors.
For the evidence I have used a white back ground, grid pattern (stamp), diamonds (stamp Chipboard), hearts, stamps, border punch and enamel dots.
For the testimony I have used the New York Times article prompt 47 - what role do pets play in your family?

Cherish Memories..

My journalling reads..
Our pets are not just animals, they are part of our family. They are part of our daily activities, When we lose a pet, we lose a part of our family. .. ..  

I created this layout a few weeks ago, and sadly last monday we had to say good bye to Bess, our horse..We lost Lucy our Fox Terrier in August last year.. So we really do cherish the memories and photos even more now.

So thank you for coming by today and also for checking out my layouts.. I do appreciate each one of you and the lovely comments you leave me too..

ARCHISCRAPS & SKETCHY BOARDS JUNE..

June??  Are you sure? How did that happen??

And so again the first of the month and the new challenges go up...

The JUNE challenge for ARCHISCRAPS is a fabulous inspiration photo ..
and you can use the color palette with the option of using diamonds or mosaics..

I made a little card and I thought I would try to do some mosaics. I have used a SCRAPMATTS urn and thought I would turn it into something a bit more interesting!
