Together for Christmas - WW1

Greetings!!

How are your Christmas preparations going? Mine... very slowly...!! I may have to stay out of my scrap room and do some planning for Christmas Day or I will be one of the mad women shopping on Christmas Eve!!

I have created a layout for the WHITE WITH ONE December Challenge which is to use white, red and a christmas photo... I had this photo of my kids taken on Christmas Day 2010 and it warms my heart to see them all together.. Last year my daughter Hannah was in the UK for Christmas and we really missed having her with us... I am looking forward to having the kids all together this year..

and silly me... must be the silly season!! I didn't read the criteria for Kraft it up properly.. all I wrote down on my challenge list was to do a layout about what you want for Christmas.. So I did a layout about my DD losing her top teeth before Christmas ...instead of what "I" want for Christmas.... and so I won't put it in the challenge, but I will just put it up here...

All I want for Chrithmath is my two front teeth...

Well I really had better start to think about Christmas.. it is gunna creep up on me for sure!!

SOUS Dec 5 card sketch.

Good evening! (well it is here at the moment!)
My first card sketch as DT for SOUS has been revealed on the blog... I have found that by doing the sketches I have become more confident at creating cards as well as making new scrapping friends..

The lovely sketch..

Nisha needed a thank you card for her R,I, teacher this year, so I used this sketch and made a little card that she gave to her teacher to say thank you for being a great teacher..

I used ribbon for the strips and 3-D stickers for the flowers..

So if you need some inspiration to give cards a go ( they are great for using the scraps of paper that are left over from a layout as well as they are there when you just want to make some ones day a little brighter) then pop over to the SOUS blog and have  a look at the other DT wonderful cards and create a card..

New Bird Word - CREATE

Well Hello to you on this hot summer day! I hope you are all enjoying this first week of December!! Not long until we celebrate Christmas, and spend time with those we love...
But until then... the new word is up for BIRD IS THE WORD and it is CREATE.. and this I hope will be an easier word to use in your title or journalling...

My youngest daughter has the most beautiful smile and the most delightful giggle and  she has brought so much happiness into my heart....

Some people pursue happiness... others create it....

I love this photo and I love those frangipani flowers.. they are so fresh and summery...

December sketch for SWAT!

Well Hello December! I have been out tonight to the Carols by Candelight and that is the first bit of evidence that Christmas is on its way!!

The new sketch for Sketches with a Twist for December is this...

and the twist this month is to use glitter... or kindy glitz...

and my layout is...

and a bit closer...

I have used kindy glitz as well as some old die cuts from K&Co that have glitter on the edges...  I felt this is a fun sketch with lots of inspiration so I went with fun photos of my DD with our little dogs and bright colors...

November Sketch Challenges - Paper Stories & Scraptherapy

Hello there!  I hope you are having a great day where ever you are popping in from...

Today I managed to scrap, not one, but two layouts... YES! I surprised myself! Nothing like the threat of the month ending to get me going!!haha!!

The first layout is for the sketch from PAPER STORIES a new blog  which I am sure is going to really take off... The sketch looks like this..

My layout is of my big sister and her darling grand sons...

I used a mix of Kaiser, so versatile, I think there is a mix of three ranges here.. and the collectables and some prima flowers...

and the next layout is also a sketch... the one for SCRAPTHERAPY and the sketch looks like this..

Together - Nov FWAB sketch

The days are flying, and I am slowly giving up trying to keep up with them!!  Not that much scrapping I am sad to say, however... I have managed to do the sketch for Flourish with a Bling..

which looks like this...

and my layout which is of Hubby and I all dressed up recently for a family Wedding looks like this...

(the sketch is under there somewhere..hehe...)

and just a little closey!!

I used some old basic grey papers then pretty much covered them with kaiser die cuts, lace, flowers and FWAB flourish..!!!

Naughty and NIce - Annas Craft Cupboard sketch

Hello to you on this Friday afternoon! I hope you all have had a good week, and I am sure you will agree that the weeks just seem to be flying by!

I thought I would create a layout based on the sketch from Annas Craft Cupboard this week...

                                           STUCK ON U SKETCHES for the Card team... yep you have read it correctly!! If you had said to me I would be on a Design Team for Cards this time last year I would not have believed you! But I am! So I hope you can create some cards with us, and if you are like me and still feel like a beginner, then the only way to feel more confident is to just create....and that is what I hope to do!! There is also a sketch and a die cut challenge that you may like to join in with too..  so come back in December when I become part of the team at SOUS...

New Bird Word - Breathe

Hello there..  I see the new word for BIRD IS THE WORD has gone up and it is.....

BREATHE...

The Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you back at the BITW blog...

I found this quote and loved it... very true sometimes in life's circumstances...

Sometimes the best thing to do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess -just breathe- and have faith...

I have used a photo of myself walking on our creek bank paddock and used texture paste to try and conceal the photo edges so the photo just blends into the layout.. I have fussy cut out the flowers from these older Kaiser Papers, and layered them..

Wonderful You - The Scrapbook Store November Sketch

Hi there! I hope your weekend is going well... I am sitting here listening the last bits of a storm that had come across a couple of hours ago..

I have created a layout for the November Scrapbook Store Sketch... which looks like this....

Now the layout I completed nearly didn't make it.. I had started it for something else and it was just not coming together, so I ripped off the top papers and photo and was nearly going to bin it all until I saw this sketch on my desk and had a play and came up with this layout... So there, I admit to sometimes creating a real dud...and I am also trying to find a better way to photograph my layouts too.. I have the layout propped up on a basket in my room, as opposed to having it on the floor and standing over it to take a photo...So any feedback will be appreciated on how to get a good photo of a layout to put on a blog...

My Three Girls - WW1 November

Well Hello there, thanks for coming by!!

I got into my scrap room and created over the weekend, and the layout is for the November WW1 challenge which is to use GREENS AND CHEVRONS and white of course..

I found this older photo of my girls and ran or should I say ... scrapped with that!!!

I have used lots of dies and even had a go at making some flowers...The chevron I have used was a mask and also a stamp..

some closies!!

I  enjoyed creating this layout, really needed the therapy after not getting into my scrap room for a few days!!

SOU Card Sketch

Good evening all.. I hope you have had a good week...  I have had a busy week, and have not had the time to do any layouts, however I have managed to escape and do two cards.. one of which is for the

New Bird Word!!

Hi again,  The days seem to be galloping by aren't they!!??
The new Word for BITW is SWEET!!!
Now this would have to be one of the easiest words to use... so many ways.. and the DT have all created wonderful examples for you....

The first thing I thought of was SWEET HEART so then it was off to find a photo... and then create a layout...


I found this photo of my youngest with a heart lollypop, and that was what I scrapped with!!

Sweet heart...

I have used Kaiser papers for this layout and I have also used an overlay... fun to use, not fun to photograph.... so a few closer views...

I am not sure if you can see but there are 3 layers.. the background, the overlay and then some more on top of the overlay...

I have done some fussy cutting of the flowers out of the papers... this flower is on top of the overlay...

SWAT November Sketch

A new month,  lots of new challenges... and the new sketch for Sketches with a Twist looks like this...

and the twist is to use stamps on your layout...

Well I will be honest and say I did not know what to do with this sketch at first... but then I played with it a bit..

The heart I made into a circle and put around the 3 photos which I cut out in circles and the 6 pieces on the right side I put together and made my tree, and then embellished it as I pleased.... You can see the sketch.....if you use your imagination... which is what sketches are for anyways!!!

Joy..

I have stamped around the edge of the layout with the stars and border flourishes...and the red chevron is a stamp...

a bit closer...

I have used old papers and old brads on the Christmas tree, cherry lynn bauble dies and bow die...and it was good to use up some old fozz felt too!!
