Whats in the Bickie Tin & Soul Scrappers Challenges

Hello how are you today? Since I was last on here, we have had a lot of rain, and floods in some areas, while the rain was needed, the floods are not.. It was so good to see the sunshine when the rains had stopped.. But while it was raining, I got into my scrap room and did some creating for challenges this month.

The first layout I would like to share is for Whats in the Bickie Tin   and it is a fabulous sketch which looks like.. and we are to add some chipboard..

What a great sketch! I kept to the sketch pretty much!

a little closer view.

The chipboard title and kite is from Scrapmatts painted with gesso.

Little man

I like male layouts pretty simple and when the photo is that cute you don't need much on the page!!  Some cute little car/plane stickers and some stencilled and die cut stars.. I have a lot of kraft cardstock from when I was on the design team, so I thought I had better try and use some up. This is my grandson photo from a little while ago now..

The next layouts I would like to share are from the challenges over at Soul Scrappers on Facebook  and the first one is for the One Word challenge which is to create a layout and the title has to be one word using Q,V or B and I have gone with the word Blessed.. cos when you are a grandparent you are blessed!!

a closer view.

A little cluster on my page..

Blessed

Grandkids are so much fun and I love this photo taken one afternoon when they came to visit..

The next layout is for the challenge to use the sketch which looks like

I stuck to the sketch pretty much and used some old papers from my stash..

fussy cut flowers and die cuts..

My Happy Place

I am happy how this turned out, I thought it might have been too busy with those papers but the plain papers on the right side give it a bit of eye rest..

and the next layout I am sharing with you is for the challenge TicTacToe which looks like..

I went down the right hand side - three word title, paint and rub ons..

a closer view

For the back ground I used some blue kaisercraft paint and used a spatula and roughly spread the paint out, then I added some white paint to lighten it and then some splats in white paint.. then I used rub ons from 49&Market to cover over the paint..

Oh happy day

This was a lot of fun to create and I am happy with how the back ground and rub ons over the paint turned out..

Well thankyou to Whats in the Bickie Tin and Soul Scrappers for great challenges that I enjoyed created while the rain poured down last week! I will see if I can get any more layouts done this month, but I reckon the days are just flying by!

Thanks for dropping by, do take care.. until next time..

The Scrapbookers Journal Publication Issue 14

Hello to marvellous March, February flew by so quickly.. Now we are heading into Autumn but Summer is holding on.. A drop or two of rain would be welcome here too..

The latest edition of The Scrapbookers Journal Issue 14  is out now and I have two layouts in it this time that I would like to share with you..

The first layout is on page 20 and I have used a beautiful photo of my Mum when she was a teenager, a long time ago  as she is now 90. This was for the twine, texture and ribbon section.

a couple closer views..

I have used some fabulous 49andMarket papers and embellishments.

Memorable moments

My Mum sure was a beauty and the papers and embellishments from 49and Market helped create this page.. I have rubons on the back ground as well as stamping, some lace and some string on the tag..

The next layout is on page 37 and it is for the Florals section.

a couple of closer views.

One of the floral clusters.

The fussy cut flowers and leaves are actually printables I got off the internet.. the papers are Kaisercraft.

Lifes little moments.

I have used hexagon shapes in a circle with fussy cut flowers and leaves around the edge and lots of white space on this layout..

Make sure you check out the The Scrapbookers Journal on Facebook  which has lots of different styles and lots of inspiration, and see what the next issue's themes are, maybe you will be featured with your creating!

Thanks for coming by, and as always, do take care.. until next time..
