Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for April!

Hi there,
Yes one more freaking scrappy challenge for April.. just before the freaking month is over.....
just where April has gone is anyone's guess!!!

But I do have ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE that I have completed.. It is the sketch and it looks like..
Lots of room for interpretation, but to me it was a bit of mixed media and lots of layers... This layout took me several days.. Lots of masking, misting and stamping.. I would do a layer, then go and do something, and then come back and do some more....and my layout..

Stuck?! sketches for April..

Hello there..

Would someone please put the brakes on this month? It is going by a bit too fast.. would be nice to have a few more days left in April then there are on my calendar!!

I have had a little time in my scrap room this last week and I created layouts for this months STUCK?! sketches..

April 1st sketch..

I have lifted the die cuts with foam tape.

I have used an older Bo Bunny range of papers Alora for this layout..

and April 15th sketch.
and my layout, using the newer Bo Bunny range of papers Primrose.

ONCE UPON A SKETCH - From this Day..

A big hello to you, thanks for dropping in!

The April challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch is another really good one, how do they think up such thought provoking challenges?? Anyway the theme is   AN EVENT THAT CHANGED MY LIFE..

and to use this sketch..


 


Well there are so many possibilities for this.. of course having children is always the best change in ones life, but I went back further to when it all began... my Wedding Day... This was a big change for me, it meant moving out of home, and building our first home and lives together..  So that is what I went with..

From this Day..

My journalling says.. Going from Miss to Mrs. Going from single to plural. Going from alone to together.
My life began anew - from this day.. Sept 4th 1982.

WORDS OR WHATEVER and PURPLE PUMPKIN

I came across the WORDS OR WHATEVER site via a blog (and I cannot remember who?) but anyway I really loved the sketch they put up for April..  I have rotated it once clock wise to suit my photo.. I found some WOW chipboard...

and used the sketch like this..

and created this layout...

Daughters are so special..

and being the sketch maniac that I am I also loved the April sketch over at PURPLE PUMPKIN which looks like...I loved the triangle elements!! and my layout...

Perfect moments..

You don't have to use PP embellies on your layout to join in.  I won last months sketch challenge so I will pop into the shop to spend my prize and get some goodies!!

FEELING SKETCHY #85 and WHITE WITH ONE APRIL

I printed off and used a little of the papers available to print off from WW1, the chippies are Dusty Attic painted with gesso and stickles for the little buds..

OFF THE RAILS CARD CHALLENGE AND SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD APRIL

Good day to you.. I really hope your day is going well...

The latest card challenge over at OFF THE RAILS is to add fabric to your card.. I have some denim from an old pair of jeans so I cut some off that and used it on my card.. I cut a hexagon from a die and covered it with the denim and made this little card..

And the mood board for April for SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD was the inspiration I needed to create another art journal page.. my second double pager!!

This is a mood board..
and I created this... I used 4 parts of this board, I just couldn't find a spot for the glasses!!

I gessoed first, then put bits of old book paper down, then gesso lightly again, then stamped, then lightly misted in green, then made the circles and put them on the page and lightly misted them, then added strips of washi tape, then masked on the butterflies and misted with blue before I lifted off the mask, then flicked some paint, then put the butterfly stickers on, then the journaling words.. then outlined the masked butterflies with black pen..  and the end result..

Don't overthink it..

I hope you can see the inspiration I took from the mood board for my pages..  I must admit I do like how a mood board inspires for art journalling, and it is a lot of fun!!

SCRAP THE GIRLS - APRIL

Well Happy April to you! and no I can't believe it is the 4th month of the year already.. but it is!!

And that means new challenges for us to enjoy!

The SCRAP THE GIRLS APRIL challenge is to use boy colors and boyish embellishments on your layout.. but remember this is a girls only challenge site!! hehe!!

The DT have some fabulous layouts to inspire you and my layout...

Sun and Sea.. 

I have used browns and blues and my embellishment is the surf board (and yes I know girls have surf boards too just like girls have soccer balls!!!). I have used some netting from those netting balls you use in the shower, I ripped bits off one of those for my fishing nets!! The photo was taken in winter when my girls and I made a dash up the coast for a day trip.. love the beach, even in winter!!
